between cutie honey, kamikaze girls, and swing girls i've stumbled over absolute gold mines this year when it comes to japanese cinema in particular. the cut to what a wonderful world over still frames of sheer panic is one of the single funniest things i've seen all year. holy shit

yes it goes straight up my nose and makes me see god for half a second but then my cough is infinitely better for at least a few hours. why did i endure so many years of the devil's chinese medicine. what did i do it all for

with ken medicine seller around the bend it's only a matter of time before we get a medicine seller clown car or a precure-flavoured big bad mononoke beatdown

extremely tiny mononoke details that fill me with great joy: ri medicine seller in all his HD glory still has rounded nails as opposed to kon medicine seller's pointy claw nails

rewatching mononoke karakasa and i very much appreciate it more on a second watch. also this is as explicitly yuri as you can get without outright stating it. this really is just a movie about kon third-wheeling asa and kame until the mononoke shows up lmao

cinema novalo 🌸 @novalotypo.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

got hit with some sort of half-assed cold where my nose is kind of running and my throat kind of hurts but i feel largely normal and i’m definitely not like SICK sick. if i’m going to be stuck at home at least choose one or the other what the hell is this nonsense

010

cinema novalo 🌸 @novalotypo.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

there’s a certain sort of madness that befalls everyone who watches mononoke of the victorian sort where you very badly need the medicine sellers to flash an ankle and hell if i’m going to apologize for it

cinema novalo 🌸 @novalotypo.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
