Yea unfortunately it just becomes a circular problem, where there's no groups to join because no one's joining, and no one's joining because there's no groups to join. I just, don't feel like I have the option to do VRC anymore, for various reasons it's just too much for me. So it just, sucks.

That's why I just love it so much, and why I really just can't go back to the old method with VRC. The amount of times I'll look at something cool someone has and knowing they can't really share it with me, they probably didn't even make it, or had a hand in making it, and it's 40$ on Jinxxy.

Seriously like I have 2500 hours in VRC and fucking god who knows how many hours in the Unity editor. And 100% I never want to go back to it after messing around in Resonite. It's not just a different development environment. It's true collaboration. My avatar has like 10 people's contributions.

Yea the splittening update was a while back and it made a lot of fantastic changes to performance. IK is the current update in the works as well, Froox has been posting devlogs here and there on it.

Not really a fault of Resonite on that part, just a symptom of how vastly different their internal systems are. There's no 1-1 translation from VRC because things are just different. There's no Unity animator, it's all done through visual coding. it's not "better" or "worse" (Though I preffer Flux)

It's not the unity editor sure, but it's still not "you have to do everything in vr" that a lot of people seem to say for some reason? Everything is in the game yes, but you can hotswap between vr and desktop with a F8 keypress. Their Unity bridge is okay for porting but not great for usual work.

If an avatar is made with Resonite in mind it's far easier to get set up and going. You just drop the package into the game window, and you have a fully working avatar infront of you, and usually easy inputs for your own textures as well. Also keep in mind you can edit things in desktop still.

I've spent so much time in the unity editor and I 100% prefer resonite now because of just that, fixing things on the fly, it's so fast and smooth to just make a small change. Setting up an avatar from scratch can be a bit of a pain, but thats only because all these avatars are made for VRC first.

They want to eventually soontm replace the renderer with something more modern and well suited for VR. Unity still barely supports VR as is.

Resonite by this point barely runs worse in most cases. The tutorial and homeworld are unfortunately a little bloated, very pretty but set a bad standard for the performance you should expect. Well, I haven't tried since Unity6 VRC is probably faster now? But Reso still has room to improve as well.
