It's been a long exhausting weekend I am in desperate need of the healing powers of soup

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

As I sit here getting snacks for the long drive back home from #RQLA it gives me to reflect Disappointed in my performance in all my events, 3-2 preRQ, 3-3 RQ, 2-3 rebound😭 Should have practiced more Should have put more effort prepping but still had fun Excited for Convergence

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Today I learned that I do not have the energy and stamina to play in these big events anymore...... I old and tired....... All i wanted to do from round 3 onwards was to just lay down and take a nap.......

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

#RQLA update Been years since I last played in a major TCG event Rode the struggle bus to 3-2 in the Pre-RQ Gave my tickets to some friends so they could get a metal card 1-2 dropped from super nexus night after realizing I haven't eaten all day Hoping tomorrow goes okay...

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Apparently the TWO battery banks I brought are both broken....... Welp, time to find a outlet between rounds I guess......

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Can confirm, currently Control Resonant does not run well on my steam deck while on battery.... Sadness.....

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Alright, that was super easy. Now to wait for the hall to open and play in the pre regional

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Alright we in. Let's see how the merch line is until thepre regional

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Oh thank God it's cloudy and overcast this morning AX has thought me well about avoiding standing in the LA sun

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I chose not to stand in the RQLA line in the sun. And I'm now just chilling in my room trying to get Control Resonant running smooth on my laptop. We will see if tomorrow Richard suffers for not getting his badge a day early and not standing in the 3+ hour lines

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

What's earlier than the crack of dawn? The sun isn't even up yet. Loaded up in drinks and snacks and starting the drive down to LA for the Riftbound RQ

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Play at a store starts about 20 minutes late person "in charge" of the event doesn't keep track of time in round doesn't enforce overtime turns PAUSED WHOLE EVENT to have everyone watch friend open their T1 bundle forces Bo1 in round 3 because "we took too long" 😑😑

100

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

This morning I was helping my parents with my niece. She shit herself and helped change her diaper. Then I went to work, a kindergartner shit himself and sent him to the bathroom. Later today I'm going to play Riftbound. If today keeps going along these lines...........

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Wait. Is all the "Orcarina of Time remake" stuff I'm seeing real? I kinda assumed it was ugly AI slop........

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

"wow, these riftbound locals sure do go long and drag into the night. We have to start even earlier so we can leave before it gets late" -says the stores that dont enforce turns or keep track of time in the round and just let players manage the event themselves 😑😑😑

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

I have so much event fomo right now.... Friends went to Singapore to play Riftbound, friends going to Pax West, a bunch of friends leaving SF after going to Pokemon worlds..... And I'm just here working.... Maybe I just need a vacation 🤔

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

I'm gonna go out of my way to make sure I'm nowhere near the Pokemon worlds traffic and crowds this whole week.

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Was working production on a show all weekend so wasn't able to watch any of RQ Barcelona, so I'm gonna binge it all now. no spoilers plz

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 23/08/2026

All I had to eat today was a sausage mcmuffin, a coffee, two energy drinks and way too many fruit snacks........

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Gotta appreciate the coffee shop that's open at 7am and playing One Piece 😆

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

I'm really happy tons of new Riftbound players are showing up to nexus nights, but can you PLEASE learn HOW TO PLAY first How do you have a full deck but not know the basics on how to play. I'm happy to teach people (cause I'm literally a teacher) but come on man.....

101

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

Welp, guess it was good that I waited on getting Marvel Tokon on PC....... Hope it gets fixed soon

011

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

I went from no work all summer, to being swamped with "hey can you cover these 3-4 weeks of stuff starting tomorrow?" Where was all this when I was looking 3 months ago? Sure when I needed work "there's nothing available" but when they're panicking its "we really value you"😑

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Does this mean I don't need to open anymore Vendette? (Plz my wallet is crying)

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

student quote of the day: "Mr. Richard, your voice is too loud. Its scary."

Me in my little production corner

001

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 20/07/2026

Oh boy it's almost content time

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

Ah, nothing like firmware updating and testing all our cameras on my kitchen floor in the middle of the night.

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 12/07/2026

a little too much free time on my hands lately, so we replaying some games. starting with FFX. i will fight the urge to speedrun it.

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Mental note. When talking to someone about Riftbound, I need to stop describing things as "Delver strategies" or "Delver decks" because am learning that not everyone knows what that means.......

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

Random late night TCG though: I think some stores really need to learn how to properly run smaller weekly events. For things like RCQ's and Skirmishes the stores lean on the judge (if they even have one) to know/run things. But for a regular weekly event I've seen run so poorly.

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 04/07/2026

I don't play much MTG nowadays, but I will always make time to cube. First draft with Ornithopter cube. We battleship up one big boi.

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 19/06/2026

I'm so excited for Persona 4 Revival, but it looks so weird to me because I'm used to seeing the old character models. It will take some getting used to like with P3R

010

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

i haven't really kept up with the mtgmarvel stuff. i just have little to no interest in this set and riftbound has mostly taken over my tcg life i just really hope that I wont have to buy some UB cards when I need to get a deck ready for eternal weeekend....

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

I do have a urge to record more casual Riftbound Nexus Nights/Weekly meet up stuff. Either vlog style or recording matches. Do I count as a content creator if I "make" content but never show up in it? 🤔

010

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

Oh God, plz Nintendo, I haz no money for a switch 2 right now...... So many jrpgs......

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

Because work in June for me is almost non-existent, i'm trying to do the thing where I don't sink into deep depression by being a hermit and avoiding being social. So I guess we are grabbing the camera and going on hikes. Maybe I'll snap some pictures during TCG local events

020

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

On one hand, I love these smaller more frequent events. On the other hand, WHY IS THERE NO WEST COAST EVENTS LISTED?!?!?!? 😭😭😭😭 I sure hope we see some in the future, and hope the west coast doesn't have a draught of a smaller regular events riftbound.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/o...

Man, after working in education for the same company for like 15 years, nothing changes how I feel about it more than a bad new manager..... I love my job, but now....... feelings have shifted hard.....

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 27/05/2026

"wow another long exhausting day at work. guess i'll relax by watching the newest One Piece episode" And now here I am bawling my eyes out

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

After 3 days of running the Fanime TCG Learn to Play area, talking almost nonstop with for about 9 hours straight each day teaching Riftbound, MTG, GundamTCG, my voice is completely destroyed I need lots of hot soothing tea and to relaxing today

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

I'm getting the urge to play fighting games again. Mostly so I can have some time to pass time outside of me grinding these autobattlers. But none of the current stuff interested me. Maybe I just wait for Marvel Tokon. 🤔

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

So I've been playing Once Upon a Galaxy for a while now spending $0 in the game, just playing it. Apparently I hit Legend, and saw this for the first time. I didn't even know this was a thing. 🤣 Just casually enjoying the game this entire time

000

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 18/05/2026

Slept in today, and woke up to so many mtg discord and chat notifications.... "huh, did I miss somethi............ oh dear god" gotta love B&R mornings

Richard T @notveryrichard.bsky.social · 12/05/2026

3-0 at first Unleashed Nexus Night with Irelia Scuttle Crab my beloved. Wow, who would have thought that having perfect information going into a showdown would be so strong s/😆

This gutter palace perfectly described my first unleashed box opening...... A pile of garbo 😑

000

I have no idea what I'm doing. Just waiting for that 0-3
