Example is totally different from spitting out a whole finished image that just replaces an artist entirely. plus most code out there was put under open source licenses meant to be studied and shared, but artists definitely never consented to having their portfolios scraped into some model

The point of art is to express yourself, typing a prompt into a black box isn’t doing that. The machine makes all the creative choices from data it took without consent. You’re basically just using a slot machine that generate images out of probable outcomes.
