Our upcoming picture book, #OneOddBook will probably be one of the weirdest books children and adults will enjoy. All types of readers might find a little bit of themselves within the pages. Anyways, here's a peep of some of the fun pages illustrated by @robinachilds.bsky.social !

This photo encapsulates the Black experience in America to me. And those folks hiding their identities most likely are our doctors, police officers, teachers, “upstanding members of society.” The ones deserving of all the privileges owed to them… Anyways let’s watch how this get deflected as nothing

This year, lots of people have been asking at conventions if my work contains AI. Since folks like the free buttons and stickers I give away, I figured I’d make some that send a very clear message of where I stand when it comes to AI generated art.

Not gonna lie, I’ve been neglecting my garden this spring. But the roses are still growing so beautifully. Probably the most I’ve had yet. 🌱

Speaking of conventions, at the one I went to Saturday, this scary looking pin was the kids’ favorite. Kids of all walks picked it out of everything I had, while mortified parents caved in. My oldest and I laughed each time. I made a mental note to make more large kid appropriate pins next time.

It's great to work with detail-oriented artists. @wingedelfgirl.bsky.social added some functionality to our main character, Princess Darby's sword. The costume designs also capture our characters' forest kingdom culture as well as foreshadow some things 😉. #OtisAndTheSylvaBeast

My workspace is 10+ years in the making. I’m a bit of a hoarder but with a bigger picture of how I’m going to use things in the future and most of this stuff are old discarded finds, gifts, stuff my kids outgrew which moved with me from different apartments, and now it makes up my dream workspace.

I’m reading this book and goodness gracious, times have NOT changed. I see why politicians and the press chose to pacify the public with his Dream speech, but the contents of this book is what made folks mad. He didn’t just dream but had tangible plans. That’s what frightens the powers that be.

I’m so proud of this little grape vine. My wife bought it during the pandemic to give us something to do. Since then I’ve been fighting with deer, squirrels and caterpillars eating leaves or digging it up. But after 5 years it’s actually making ripe red grapes. So glad I didn’t give up. 🌱

I’m an amateur gardener. So I kind of follow my gut and do a little research to see what specific plants enjoy and try to replicate it in the environment I’m in. I’ve been haphazardly trimming this Crepe Myrtle because it wasn’t flowering. Apparently my gut was right this time. 🌱
