It would be an understatement to say things have been rough lately. I won’t get fully into it, but I’ve been dealing with a lot™️ at work. Between rejections, my production expertise being either erased or entirely forgotten, and being treated like a work horse instead of a person… it’s been hard.

It has been an honor to be the stewards of Roxy living her best life, conquering all of her fears, and knowing nothing but joy, peace, & love. Up until the very end. Roxy passed in our arms Friday night. It was the perfect day for her. Sunshine, warmth, & a soft breeze. Both her humans by her side.

We went into today trying to confirm our working theory that she is in active heart failure. She’s not. It’s likely Roxy has cancer. Due to her age and medical history over the last 2 1/2 years, we are starting end of life care.

Roxy had a procedure done today to try to give her some relief & to try to find an answer as to what’s going on in her body after an unexpected ER trip this past weekend & following up with her team yesterday. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to sugarcoat this as I’m still processing it myself.

Having a senior pet is not for the weak. Find yourselves a vet team that loves your pet just as much as you do. The ones that take the time to come say hi while you’re at the clinic, wrap your pet up in a blanket & give snuggles while your pet is having a procedure done. Those are your people.
