year-to-date is still a drop, but less dramatic

Monday was the low point this week, small bump since then. Some large investors are buying the dip, but analysts still advise to sell. Closed at $248 yesterday. You know what to do! Our target is < $114! The protests are working. Keep going! #TeslaTakedown www.marketwatch.com/story/teslas...
Graph of TSLA stock prices showing $411 per share as of Jan 6, 2025 but down to $246.66 pre-market Mar 13, 2025“At a minimum these protests are likely having an adverse impact on store traffic, and could be impacting consumers’ willingness to buy,” Jewsikow wrote. “While the protests could prove fleeting, we believe that protests and partisanship are having an impact on demand, a change from our prior belief that politics were not having an impact on sales.”

He’s also concerned about declining profitability on the EVs that are sold, as there are signs that consumer demand is becoming more sensitive to price, which labeled demand elasticity.

Jewsikow said the 1.2% increase in prices in the first quarter resulted in a 26% decline in demand, which puts demand elasticity at its worst levels since the EV price wars of 2023.

He is expecting quarterly price cuts of 2% for the rest of 2025 but doesn’t believe that will be enough to lead to delivery-volume growth.

There is also concern that one big expected positive catalyst, the launch of a commercial robotaxi fleet in the next few months, will be “underwhelming” in terms of scope.

“While we appreciate excitement around robotaxis, we believe the stock is reaching a breaking point, where numbers start to matter — based on our current model [Tesla] has little room left to reduce price before [free cash flow] flips negative,” Jewsikow wrote.

This would nullify a lot of the arguments before the courts to get funding restored. They didn't grow a pair, they adjusted tactics to better facilitate the plans from Dear Leader. Another article on it: rollcall.com/2025/03/05/g...
Hoping to regain some of their power of the purse, senators asked Musk at a private lunch to have the White House submit a rescissions package for congressional approval for any funding it deems fraudulent or wasteful. Congress would then have 45 days to approve the request, or else the money must be spent as appropriated once the clock runs out.

“What we got to do as Republicans is capture their work product, put it in a bill and vote on it,” Senate Budget Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told reporters. “So the White House, I’m urging them to come up with a rescission package.”

Graham said Musk was receptive to the idea and hadn’t known about the rescissions process as an available tool to cut spending.

“He was doing like this,” Graham said of Musk, while raising his arms in the air in a triumphant gesture. “So it’s time for the White House now to go on offense. We’re losing altitude here. … And the way you can regain altitude is to take the work product, get away from the personalities and the drama, take the work product and vote on it.”

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said he asked Musk to consider a rescissions bill of at least $100 billion and perhaps a series of such bills that could ultimately claw back as much as $500 billion of already appropriated funds.

He said such a move might also “make those of us who are skeptical about reconciliation, adding to the debt, might be a little bit more open to it if we’re actually going to … make the spending cuts real and permanent.”

The rescissions process also holds appeal for Republicans because it requires only a simple majority vote in the Senate for approval, not the typical 60-vote threshold that would require Democratic buy-in.

An interesting article by Alison J. Ayers: journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....
Unquestionably, this involves resisting the forces of reaction, confronting the far- and fascist- right who populate the electoral and institutional terrain, as well as more broadly in society, the workplace and on the streets. But also crucial is that antifascism is conceived as a necessary complement to related struggles (antiracist, anti-imperialist, antimilitarism, feminist, ecological, and so on) not just a struggle, waged independently, against the organised hard-right. Hence it involves creating a plurality of types of tactics, organisations and strategies – the infrastructures of dissent – to fight neofascism on the basis of common action of the oppressed (Burley, 2022; McNally and Post, 2021).
Ultimately, opposing fascisation and neofascism entails the transcendence of neoliberal capitalism itself. Overcoming the monster of neofascism demands that we reject and transcend the capitalist morass from which it emerges, takes root and spreads. A meaningful alternative to neoliberal state and capital requires us to look again to socialism (Barker et al., 2021; McNally, 2021).11 This presents a major challenge for the radical left today, but necessarily involves taking-up the class questions which the far- and fascist-right seek to exploit but cannot resolve. It necessitates turning, understanding and building outwards to the mass of the population, to recohere a mass-based, genuinely anticapitalist, radical left primed for the transformative struggles of our age.

Here is the kind of non-answer weakness you hear back from republicans, for the record and so there are examples outside the dems we are hoping will step up...

Here's an example of the kind of bullshit you get back contacting a republican in congress when you ask them to consider the needs of their constituents... They also make sure to set the email up in a way that you can't reply to it.

Yes, women deserve appropriate healthcare and should already be receiving it ... but seems this new bill in the House was really written just to sneak in the highlighted bit ... Smells like Project 2025. @aoc.bsky.social , you seeing this? Women's healthcare shouldn't have these strings attached.
