Europe is strengthening its own capabilities, but NATO members still reaffirmed the transatlantic bond at the 2026 Ankara summit. I’d rather see the U.S. held to the same rules as everyone else and work through genuine partnerships than simply disengage.

I think that criticism of U.S. double standards is fair, and selective adherence to international law does weaken American credibility. I also agree Europe has good reason to build more independent defense capacity. Where I differ is the conclusion.

NATO alone has 32 sovereign members that voluntarily participate in a U.S. anchored security alliance, and the broader international order is built around institutions and rules like the UN Charter. I’d rather see the U.S. live up to those rules and lead by partnership than simply withdraw.

That’s a fair criticism, and I agree the U.S. has sometimes violated the very rules it claims to defend. But I don’t think that means there’s no international order or that nobody wants American involvement.

I used to be a devoted Trump supporter, but I owned that past and changed as I learned more about systemic racism, women’s autonomy, and pay inequality. For me, voting for Kamala Harris was part of that growth not just changing candidates, but changing how I see the issues.

I support abolishing ICE. But if Dems don’t have the votes, ICE needs major reform: 1. Ban masks; require visible ID. 2. Independent civilian oversight. 3. Strict limits on deadly force. 4. Mandatory body cameras. 5. Psychological evaluations for all agents.

I went and saw Spider Man A Brand New Day. It was an awesome film, I give it an A+ One of the most comic book feeling MCU movies in a long time. Great crossovers, fun character interactions, and it was refreshing to see a grounded street level Spider Man again. And that suit looks impeccable 😮‍💨
