I'm all for banning athletes born with an unfair competitive advantage over their field.
That's why we should immediately ban rich children from all sports.

Top-notch equipment? Private coaches? Travel leagues?
I'm sorry if this offends you but that's just not natural. That's just not how sports were when I was growing up.
Won't someone think of the children?

It’s one thing for anti-vax nonsense to ruin our herd immunity by spreading their disinformation. But the escalation to taking away our choice to vaccinate ourselves and our families is infuriating. The development of the COVID vaccine was miraculous, we’ve fallen so far so fast.

I’ve really enjoyed getting my Covid and flu shots in the fall and then spending the rest of the year not having Covid or flu. The fact that this very basic freedom has been taken away is unconscionable. I’m looking for ways to fight back, and stocking up on masks again.

The comments section of this post seems to really hate Democratic politicians who lift on social media. I haven't yet thought about mixing up one of my favorite hobbies with my nascent political career, but I do love any lifting content that isn't conservative-coded.

The local town moms Facebook page always knows what's going on around town. One time, they helped locate a kid who got lost during the town fireworks show. The kid, who didn't know her mom's name or number, found a random woman who scrolled through the images in the group until she ID'd her mom.

It's evident that the policies of the Trump regime are unpopular, and we know they'd be soundly rejected if put to a vote. That's why the only question is: what mechanism will they use to stay in power? www.npr.org/2025/07/16/n...

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

What other horrors of my childhood are on the table? Smoking indoors? Getting rid of seat belt laws? Lead paint? We have a president who thinks culture peaked in 1982, and he's determined to bring it all back.

I attended a preliminary “AI Community of Practice” at my work. As people were sharing their use cases, I said “you all know we can’t use this for anything the requires factual accuracy, right?” Why did this seemed like news to everyone?

Considering how many of my would-be-protesting friends were at soccer, baseball, or hockey games with their kids today, I think we could call this a 3.5%. I wonder if the military parade conscripted participants outnumbered the voluntary attendees.

The scorn feels to me like an op to take away one of our great feminist icons. She did groundbreaking work and made a bad decision not to retire. No one -outside of McConnell’s fever dream- could have foreseen that decision would be this catastrophic.

I will always defend RBG. In 2014, she was at the height of her popularity and delivered excellent decisions. She was 21 years on the job, 26 years is the average SC tenure. She had recovered from cancer and there was no way to foretell the fuckery of Mitch McConnell. By 2016, she was stuck there.

I HATE this narrative around Cuomo. The retort to “he got a lot done” isn’t “but he harassed women and was a bully,” it’s “actually he didn’t do much at all – it was just an act – and he let a lot of problems fester with his inaction and awful management style.”
Many of the candidates this year hold or have held public office, but few boast the hands-on experience that Ms. Garcia had.
Mr. Cuomo seems to come the closest, having led the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Clinton administration, and served as attorney general and governor of New York.
Mr. Cuomo is fond of reciting a list of accomplishments, including raising the minimum wage and opening the Second Avenue subway. But his record also includes sexual harassment complaints by 11 women; investigations into his handling of nursing homes during the pandemic and allegations of concealing the number of nursing home residents who died from Covid; and a vindictive management style.
