#AltText : A stream of corvid birds fly out over the Willamette river, on their way to roosting trees. Their already black feathers make even better silhouettes against the orange glow of the sunset. This went on for 30 minutes or more. Definitely many hundreds of birds, maybe thousands.

I was driving past my friend's peach orchard recently when the smart voice in my head said "Hey, aren't you supposed to enjoy the good things in life?" So I stopped and got some peaches. My friends were happy to see me. Now to see if i can be patient enough to catch the earthlight... See the bat?

Question. Do I leave the fan off and hope the inside temperature comes down from 81? Or do I turn the fan on and pump cool, but smoke laden air in to lower the inside temperature? Or do I put a filter onto the fan and get cleaned cool air in, but possibly crap up a filter I may need later?

The statue in the center is a favorite for 50 years or more. I have 2 shelves of trinkets, some of which are well loved, but I boxed them to child-proof my home for a recent visit if grand nephew.

Several statues sit on a shelf. On the right is a wine carafe shaped like a nude woman in a cloak, she has a cluster of grapes covering her mons.
On the left is a white ceramic statue of Quan Yin, in memorium of my maternal grandmother. In the center is a carved wood statue of Mary and Child (both of whom are missing hands) that I inherited from my paternal grandmother which was probably hand-carved in Germany over a hundred years ago.
