Tomorrow I'll be omw back from a week of holiday spend with a friend and her dog - lots of walks, some training and some shooting for a series of webinars on elderly dog care. It was fun ! Back to work on Monday, cool projects on the stove

Huskies have a "metabolic switch" which very roughly put makes the body change the way it uses fat once their glycogen gets low. This is what allows them to run for as long as they do. We're actually studying this in the hopes of finding new ways to handle diabetes and obesity in people.

Neos takes Keal up to 6 times a day so we have, a stock. Turns out it’s not supposed to be kept at 30+°c. Which has been the temperature of our flat for weeks. I just had to throw away 60 bucks worth of meds 🫠

He has one of these going through his eardrum. He was in so much pain three people were not enough to hold him to take it out so they’re putting him under. I’m waiting and freaking out that he’s in the hands of stranger without me around. One of us has separation anxiety and it’s not him.

Neos is incredibly sick today and gave us a huge scare. He’s doing better for now but I’ll be keeping watch tonight to make sure he’s ok. Genuinely considered we might be losing him since we almost did when he got that bad in the past.
