Most of the ones it has for me are incredibly obvious based on things I've bought, but this one feels like they're actually calling me out, because I'm pretty sure I never actually even opened that bucket of air-dry clay I bought two years ago.

That sure is a nice Herk. And while it would probably look amazing fully freed from the host stone, it's pretty neat to have it rolling around in that pocket, plus it makes for a fun story of how you found it.

Vote Quartz because it gives me a good excuse to share my Herkimer Diamond collection again.

Dunno, but I do know my roommate complained to management a few times but nothing came of it. Then a few weeks after I moved out, management called me to ask if the neighbors had been loud because the new resident of my unit complained about the yelling and door slamming.

Caitlin Nothhard @nothhart.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Dealt with the same thing in my first apartment, except they were the unit below me. Kid would also slam doors and bang on their electric keyboard. Yet the father had the actual gall to complain to me the one time I had to get up early to pack my car & me just waking down the stairs woke the kid.

I don't have any skeletal herks, so it would be cool to find some to add a bit of variety to my collection.

Gonna have to try going to that location sometime when I'm feeling more ambitious than just surface hunting at Herkimer Diamond Mine or Crystal Grove.

Hot dang, those are gonna be pretty all cleaned up. Which mine/area were you digging at?

Caitlin Nothhard @nothhart.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

And this is why I'm not gonna try getting any 30th anniversary stuff. If my local game store happens to have some in stock, cool, maybe I'll get something, but I do not want to deal with scalpers (already dealing with scalpers making Lorcana prices skyrocket anyway).

Caitlin Nothhard @nothhart.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Well, if you ever happen to be back in the area, give it a try. It's definitely a fun way to spend a day.

Even with the new 10 image carousel, I couldn't include all the quartz I own. Here's a few more bonus Herkimer diamond pics.

Asagiite is very pretty, but I'm a sucker for quartz, especially Herkimer diamonds, cactus quartz, and specimens with fun inclusions. Plus, I love that quartz is such a great gateway into the mineral collecting hobby because of all the different varieties.

Don’t mind me just sitting over here still waiting for a sequel to Kya: Dark Lineage. Its lack of polish and general bugginess kept it from being a true hidden gem, but it had a ton of potential and was fun overall.

My freehand nailart skills are still a bit rough, but I did some cute lil’ mushrooms. I also attempted stamping on my thumb and pinky but haven’t yet mastered getting the stamp to fully pick up the design. And I need to find a top coat that doesn’t smear all my hard work.

Yeah, something like this would 100% require likeness licensing that would need to be approved by Hathaway/her agent. Even when I did digital coloring pages for DCOMs, those pages all had to get approved by the actors/their agents.

Why is it ALWAYS overcast in Rochester when there's an eclipse 🥲

It’s such a good movie, but also an absolute shame how relevant and relatable it still is all these years later.

Not getting season 3 stings extra knowing all the songs were already written for it. (Can't recall if the episode scripts were also written and ready to go)

So incredibly cool. I love seeing the sheer variety of a single mineral like that. I’ve considered doing something similar with quartz.

Monster Hunter. Sorry, but I don’t want to spend 30+ minutes fighting a single guy. That just feels tedious to me.

Gonna jump on and say that I’d recommend jumping right to DQ Builders 2 since it really improved on the formula of the 1st game, especially with some major QoL tweaks. Or there’s Pokopia if someone doesn’t want any of the combat and/or is a Pokemon fan.

I have resting-b*tch-face and yet I'm also approached for directions surprisingly often. Luckily for those people, despite the fact that I'm terrible with directions, they actually ask about places that I do know how to get to.

In the Side Order dlc, the character Acht uses they/them pronouns, so Inklings and Octolings are definitely cool with gender expression beyond the binary.

No clue. But I don't think they had high expectations to begin with since I think it was an old student project that they were just polishing up a bit for fun while they also had a bigger project in production. It very much had old school Newgrounds flash game vibes and was roughly the same scope.

A local indie dev I know released their game right before Silksong just because they thought that was a funny thing to do since everyone else changed their release dates. IIRC, they either released it the day before or the same day but at an earlier time.

Apparently it’s Spongebob Day today, so to celebrate here’s some miscellaneous art I did for Spongebob web games back in the day when like 50% of our studio’s output had Spongebob in it.

I just recently found most of my childhood rock collection that was in my mom's storage unit for 10+ years because I didn't have room to take it with me when I moved into my first apartment.

I only bought a Core once and never again because it was just impossible to scoop because the core was so rock solid that letting it thaw enough to easily scoop meant that the ice cream was total mush.

Never gonna uninstall this. It was the very first game our studio ever worked on for Disney Channel, and the majority of other games we made for them lived inside the DisneyNOW app, which is now deprecated.

The first app game I ever worked on is still installed on my phone (via system transfers) and could very possibly be the only playable copy out there right now since it was delisted from the app stores 10ish years ago.
