Shame about Google’s option for a collage of 5, but Many-seeded Goosefoot does warrant some publicity; such an attractive plant. And what cute ray florets on this Canadian Fleabane! #WildflowerHour

And, of course, Beggarticks Bidens frondosa, today’s specimens at Bradford-on-Avon Wharf on the K&A canal, on lock gates and in canal walls. Still a #FavouritePlant despite becoming common as muck locally! #WildflowerHour

I’d been keeping my eye out for New Zealand Bitter-cress Cardamine corymbosa on Silver Street in Bradford -on-Avon for several years, so I was delighted and relieved to finally see it this March. Such a compact, pretty member of that family! #FavouritePlant #WildflowerHour

It looked as though it was going to be slim pickings for the #WildflowerHour #WallPlants challenge, with only Yellow Corydalis, Ivy-leaved Toadflax, Trailing Bellflower, Wall Lettuce and Mexican Daisy on nearby walls in Bradford-on-Avon, but then…

My only find for #WildflowerHour #CommonNames theme was this Dittander Lepidium latifolium; my first encounter with the plant, so it was worth missing a bus! More info in ALT
There doesn’t seem to be a story to its name but Dittander was used as a condiment in the past and also as a medicinal herb against leprosy. I saw it as an urban weed in London.

It’s usually tiny plants that a hand lens makes stunning, but the detail in a Dark Mullein Verbascum nigrum flower is amazing! So I had to check out Great Mullein Verbascum thapsus too - not quite so much 1970s pow! but still superb. #WildflowerHour

They strimmed down the Mayweeds and Geranium rotundifolium along the wall but kept the (admittedly statuesque) Burdock (near the white van) which is repaying them handsomely. I hope the young footballers appreciate it. 🙄
