Good Saturday morning read for my docster friends. Don't agree with the premise, in full, but it's a thoughtful addition to the doc apocalypse discourse of past months. (also, "cinema-verité" and "direct cinema" are different forms...my pet peeve)

I watched the documentary Russians at War recently. It's powerful, revelatory. Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland hadn't seen a frame when she criticized public funding for it. TVO clearly caved to totally inappropriate political pressure in pulling it. Outraged 🧵 follows... www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
