I became a co-owner to protect myself from unemployment. Thank god. Cuz they have definitely pushed out the other brown ppl. I have been trying to hang around until the beginning of next year and then start looking for a job but I am hanging on by my edges.

I have had coworkers tell me that they think I was mean, stern, an asshole. I have coworkers who get so offended when I ask questions that they will exit the zoom. Someone had blown up at me and completed melted down because I told them what they were suggesting, about my discipline, was not right.

People at my job treat me with the hostility that they assume I have because I am a Black woman. It is probably unconscious but it is so exhausting. This is the worst workplace I’ve worked in for this kind of thing. And a place that claims to be the most open and liberal.

As a member of one, I can say that they are very different than predominately white ones. I would say significantly better but I am biased obviously lol. Our purposes for organizing and how we engage with our are extremely different. Charles would probably not get accepted into any D9 org.

One day, just random, we are telling him about Eskimo Joes, and Babyface the legend walks behind the producer. My white homegirls don’t know who that is but i’m like, “oh shit!” and I start laughing. The producer turns around and takes the headphones off and we see them talking. Babyface waves at us

I was in college during Skype’s heyday. It was common to Skype my internet friends, use oovoo etc. One of those friends was a young song writer and engineer. We’d call him when we were pregaming before going bar hopping or when we’d get back from going out and saw him online. He was funny and polite
