it was genuinely fucking crazy to realize that I felt better on medications that most people tend to feel really sleepy and like shit on because my chronic fatigue was gone and that meant I was less tired despite being eepy from anesthesia. I woke up 5 minutes after they took the oxygen tube out

actually when I had the hysteroscopy before the hysterectomy I literally felt better after I woke up from anesthesia because the meds they gave me worked so damn well. not not because pain meds but because zofran and ostensibly the dexamethasone. I woke up with my chronic fatigue completely gone

From what I understand, bad food poisoning can be REALLY up there so like literally nothing compares for me because i was borderline delirious from the pain and i was not after surgery. Not even anesthesia affected me like that

I got to find someone who's done both (complete hysterectomy or an oophorectomy w/ defusing from another organ involved + giving birth) to get a real comparison lol

I woke up in so much pain from hysterectomy + getting my ovary de-fused from my abdominal muscles; they had to give me opioids twice, literally didn't feel a thing from the first dose and i should've still been under anesthesia pain meds. it was still better than food poisoning.

Do you know if "cauterization burn from surgery to remove an organ" even ranks in comparison? because that was a 9 for me and food poisoning was a 10 the three times i had it

like "do you have a good reason to be looking up something that might pull up or be connected to this information" is my threshold and imo being invited is a good reason. the way i phrased it didnt make that super clear at first

the same way you might find an address as a first page result when looking for a cv, if you're given the address you might find like the sale record. so i think it's more a matter of whether you were looking through non-public-record sources like facebook photos or something stalkery
100
notebeans @notebeans.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Intentionally looking for the address unprompted, yes a bit strange. Stumbling across extra info bc you were actually given the address, not really imo unless you dig into it to an invasive degree. It's more a matter of "how closely connected is this info in the public record"

added the city name to narrow it to The Right Person With That Name and boom public record they bought a house

if you're the kind of person that randomly looks up ppl you know a lot or if you know them through academia i don't think it's that strange. Ppl know academics are nerds and I have accidentally found housing purchase info about professors bc i was looking up their CVs to read their publications lol

working in the entertainment industry has def changed my perspective on this sort of thing bc I'm in a position where I DO get to work for artists I'm a fan of. it'd be completely inappropriate to hire me bc im a fan of the artist rather than bc ive proven my skills and reliability as a worker
000
notebeans @notebeans.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
and in turn a fan's interactions with an artist can turn creepy and stalker-y quite easily. it's best for everyone to maintain a bit of professional distance when there's that parasociality element involved

immense respect for this take. I think a lot of people don't really think about the implications of celebrity, even if it is niche internet microcelebrity, and the potential kind of influence it gives people over fans. it can turn creepy and toxic very quickly

i've met quite a few people who've worked TSA or similar types of security guard jobs and not only is their job insanely fucking boring, they have to enforce stupid menial rules that we all know are unnecessary and unhelpful. The least you can do is let them rest so it goes more smoothly

I suspect this could be challenged as being able to stand all day is not a bona fide occupational qualification and would violate laws including the ADA.

physical fitness is not required to perform a TSA security checkpoint agent's job, this is ableist as fuck, and I hope they get sued into oblivion over this by current TSA employees

i literally wrote an essay about this for my final in a history class and got an A so while I'm no subject matter expert, i think i am qualified to say that hegseth doesn't know fuckshit about the crusades and he should maybe take a history class

notebeans @notebeans.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
fascists are absolutely fucking obsessed with the crusades and this idea of holy war but the thing about the crusades is they weren't even holy wars. The crusades were characterized by collaboration between Muslim and Christian powermongers who fucked over everyone they could to get rich.

rotting potatoes smell remarkably similar to dead mice. i know this because mice sometimes die in the vents at my dad's house and every time we thought we smelled a dead mouse at my mom's, it turned out to be a rotting potato buried in the back of the pantry

tears at this. so grateful for people who do right knowing they'll be done wrong. it doesn't always turn out like this. harm reductionists are the best fucking people and there is absolutely nothing stopping you from being one of them.
Justice Murray ended her ruling by addressing DULF’s founders directly, saying they did the public interest a service “at considerable personal cost.”

“You selflessly put yourselves to the side for this cost, and it’s something that most people wouldn’t do,” said Justice Murray. “I applaud you for what you’ve done. I think you should be very proud of yourselves, and it’s people like you who make a difference.”

the whole 'i dont like AI but THIS i can get behind' when its a story about someone pounding a trex or a minotaur is such a bad take. camp is art. real legitimate art. honestly kind of astonished to see anti-AI folks just ignoring their stated values because someones AI erotica cover made them laugh

i love how strongly anti-AI young buckaroos are, and the creative community is, and basically anyone who knows anything about it. but dang i wish folks brought that kind of fight to the world of erotica. such a sneaky reveal of how those who CLAIM to care actually dont see erotica as 'real art'

And when someone DOES make a game where people who aren't white men are the target audience, white men complain that it isn't catered to them

This has always been insane to me because women are 50% of the population and non-white people are the global majority. Like why wouldn't you view them as a primary market at least sometimes

Omg theyve got a cafe in the middle of this medical office building. It's like right next to the main hospital but not actually the same building (part of a medical plaza area) so it makes perfect sense but I wasnt expecting it and it's cool as hell

What I’m saying is that there are a diversity of tactics to address different kinds of harm *appropriate to their context.* Accountability is a practice we can develop in trusted relationships. It cannot be the tool for challenging our enemies. It should not be a tool used to control our friends.

they can shut out press, bury social media posts with the algorithm, bribe politicians, but they cannot hide the Earth itself and what they've done to it. Israel is committing genocide. This is what intent to eradicate an entire nation looks like.

Had an option to play nature sounds while gradually increasing in volume, and it was a gift I'd gotten during a particularly shitty time of my life that noticeably helped me wake up more easily. Plus it had a little projector to display the time on the ceiling so I didnt have to shift to check

This would've been when I was 16 or 17? Anyway I was literally so sick that I had to drop out of high school around that time and that incident particularly pissed me off because not only did she violate boundaries just to be an ass, it was a really fucking nice alarm clock.

I had a modern one similar to this for a few years until my mom barged into my room to wake me up an hour before my first alarm when she knew I was extremely sick, refused to leave, spilled water on it, and broke it. And never replaced it or even apologized. I'm still kinda mad about it

Willing to bet the 10-18% against releasing are majority abusers and rich people who've committed various crimes who are worried their name will appear, with a small faction of victims who know they'll be doxxed by a full release with their abusers' names redacted

What a surprise, the organizers of the covid cautious dyke bar hated the article, rejected its framing, and is defending their covid cautious patrons and performers. Anyone who joined in on the viral harassment campaign started by Jesse Singal wanna say oops or…? recorder.com/2026/09/24/g...
Current and former owners of Last Ditch could not be reached by phone, email or social media. However, Last Ditch did share on Instagram that the Globe story allegedly misconstrued statements from Noire, and urged community members to stop harassing Noire.
"It is neither productive, progressive, nor valiant to attack a Black patron. He has been a collaborator and performer of Last Ditch for a while, and he deserves to speak his mind about accountability and repair from the bar," the Last Ditch statement reads. "There are so many misconceptions due to the disorganization of the Globe article. He did not call for the bar to be firebombed. Further, he did not disparage the owner for being homeless.
"As a result of this abysmal journalism, he has been getting additional threats, slurs, harassment, and is being reported to the police over something he did not do," Last Ditch continued. "This is not supporting us at Last Ditch, and it is, at its core, anti-Blackness hysteria."

We don't have a housing crisis, we have a "they're charging luxury housing prices for a single room in a 50 year old apartment that doesn't have a dishwasher or AC" crisis. Rent prices have been massively inflated over the past decade
000
notebeans @notebeans.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I think the framing of "luxuries are cheaper than they used to be" is a bit off the mark tbh. It's more so the case of "your rent costs THAT much?" Rent for a month costs more than a phone that you only need to replace every 4 - 5 years Rent costs as much as some used cars
