I played the two games well over a decade apart and 2 does a good enough job explaining what's going on. I also think 2 is an amazing improvement over 1 in terms of how thoughtful a lot of the mindscapes are, it feels very genuine and heartfelt to help the people out in this game this time around.

One of the most tragic losses of the TCG translations was losing the direct references to classical church music that all of the Fiendsmiths have. I will admit that adding "Engraver" to The Fiendsmith himself's title is pretty cool, but losing Dies Irae, Lacrimosa, and Agnus Dei wasn't worth.
