Barry Sloane posting a John Price Playlist was NOT what I was expecting today but Closer was on there so I am justified in sexualizing that old man.

Research for one of my projects has fully commenced

❄️Val❄️ @notasaintvalentine.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

I haven't finished the series yet full transparency but the 2002 TV movie is my favorite adaptation tbh.

This has really turned into my Carrie brain dump page

000

❄️Val❄️ @notasaintvalentine.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Sissy Spacek is my favorite Carrie, Rena Sofer is my favorite Miss Desjardin, and Alison Thornton is my favorite Chris. I don't have a favorite Sue, Tommy, Margaret, Tina, or Billy. Though I loved Tina's death in the 2013 adaptation. It was visually stunning.

❄️Val❄️ @notasaintvalentine.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

My first copy of Carrie(i have owned multiple through my life) was the Chloe Grace Moretz movie cover and I bought it at the UVA bookstore and by the time I got a new copy, it was literally falling apart. I have portions of that book memorized. I know my SHIT lol

❄️Val❄️ @notasaintvalentine.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

I see where a lot of people have pointed out weak spots but let's be real. There is never going to be a true adaptation of Carrie. Not with how she's actually depicted in the book, combined with the documentary style of the book. (Speaking as someone who DEVOURED this book on a 8th grade DC trip)

000

❄️Val❄️ @notasaintvalentine.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

If you go into the Carrie show with the idea of it being a modernized version of the book, you will be disappointed. However, if you go into it accepting that Mike Flannagan has never done a direct adaptation in any of his projects and trust the process, its quite good. (Also he wants 3 seasons so)

One of my reps dropped by with those viral fruit chocolates for me (the ones that look like the flavor of the cream) and i just about cried. Its nice to be recognized for doing a good job lol.

The rest of October better be spooky and stress free so I can focus on my research projects and have fun trips to the pumpkin patch.

I'm getting myself a new game as a reward for dealing with all this shit from the past month.

Thinking about how one man made it so much easier for my stepfather to SA me from 6-13, for a 40yr old man to groom and propose to me at 14, for a 21 yr old man to groom and propose to me at 16. And yet that man is the one I'm still the most terrified of to this day.

Don't you love it when you get solid evidence that someone's changed but all it does is confirm that they thought you weren't worth changing for?

Getting confirmation that nearly everyone in your old friend group is now super alt right when they were definitely NOT when you were friends with them is wild.

Everyone should read or listen to The Disordered Cosmos by Chanda Prescod-Weinstein. And if you're in the right head space but dont have the time to devote the whole book, chapter 11 specifically. It's heartbreaking but something that (if you're in the right place) everyone needs to hear or read

'I know exactly what it is to want to kill a man, and to wait' #captiveprince #caprisky #q

Fanart of Laurent from csptive prince based on cabanel's painting fallen angel. Laurent is on a dark background, hold tighly a whip on his right hand, it's raised and covering half of his face, from which we can only see a furious, focused gazed and one tears rolling. He's in princely jacket with golden embroidery and a raised leg in tight pants and high boots. Motif of chains surround him. The colors are disaturated and greyish except for a piece of red fabric.
