5 - Sam’s name is a reference to Samael, the fallen angel (Lucifer), since he’s viewed as a devil spawn by most. Xandar’s name is just a different spelling of Xander, with the other characters mishearing the pronunciation due to his Scottish accent. He wears it like a badge of honor, tho.
