Autocannons in 30-57mm with HE proximity/AHEAD style ammunition seems like an answer (and they've been used in Ukraine). Ideally semi or fully mobile. Of course, the response will be to kill the killers. So I'm pretty sure that we'll eventually get drones specalised in killing barrel-based SHORAD.

Counter-take: 1st cabinet included experienced/smart individuals with some degree of independence in thought & action (Tillerson, Kelly, Pompeo). The 2nd cabinet either lacks such individuals or they have taken the lesson that the Führerprinzip and loyalty are all that matter this time around

I'd prefer Home One - bigger ship, more fighters, more aliens. A hybrid of BSG and Star Trek with some Babylon 5-style intrigue and space battles would be amazing. Give us a rag-tag bunch of weirdos taking on a vast, faceless Empire. Oh and make sure anyone can die. Zero plot armour.

Modern travel - connecting 1-stop to almost anywhere in the world via the geographically advantageous hubs of the Middle East (also Turkey). About 75-80% of the global population lives within 8 hours flying time of Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

No large US carrier has a fuel hedging position (too many bad bets, made too often). Delta uses its refinery as an offset. Large EU carriers are heavily hedged (typically 70-90% for the upcoming quarter). Big Asia carriers are mixed. No hedging in Chinese Big 3. Other FSCs are roughly 30-60%.

Taurus PT92, a Brazilian licence-produced copy of the Beretta 92. The 92 was adopted by the US military as the M9 in the 1990s, but I can't find any evidence of the FBI adopting it as a standard handgun. Still, having replaced the 1911 it probably had sufficient 'sexiness' for TV.

Of course, "should" is the operative word here. DoD cost assumptions are likely different from DHS, which will probably have to pay rates competitive with the civil market. Salus Solutions (Deladus Aviation parent) already had $293 million in gov't transport contracts for 'nonscheduled charters'

DHS should have a pretty good idea of the cost of flying of a 737 NG - because the USAF/DoD publishes billable rates/cost per flight hour estimates for the C-40 (equivalent to a 737-700/737 BBJ). C-40A: $6,049 - $6,794 C-40B: $8,687 - $9,758 C-40C: $8,687 - $9,698 From: tinyurl.com/493u8r92

The eagle needs to be double headed. That said - this is a government, an entire movement even, that fails to understand a core tenant of the medium. No-one is a good guy in WH40K. Hell, humans are arguably not even the least worst faction. An entire political movement full of 'That Guy'.

@dieworkwear.bsky.social Could you comment on the, um, 'spread' of wide collar styles in men's shirts? I returned to the office recently after years in the wilderness, and they're everywhere. Often in combination with thin ties with tiny knots (resembling a garrotte, or unwanted wrapping ribbon)

>The average thrown baked good is in fact non-lethal Tell that to Setha Ironcrust. A well thrown combat flatbread should saw itself two inches deep into oak. A combat muffin or drop scone can be lethal even in inexpert hands. 'Course, you can't get the good stuff these days. It's the gravel

Minimal now, but what about 5-10 years in the future? Boeing orders/deliveries from China: 2006-2015: 1340 orders, 758 deliveries 2016-2025: 298 orders, 707 deliveries 737 MAX/787 issues had their impact, but economic decoupling between the US and China appears real (even in the LCA market).

Re-read The Fifth Elephant and Making Money recently. TERFs trying to claim Terry are barking up the wrong tree. Just look at Cheery/Cheri, a dwarf who affirms her gender against social norms, and Gladys, the nominally sexless golem who adopts (a series of) female gender norms.
