Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I did the math and tonight's DC fireworks equate to 3.7 YEARS worth of showings of Happily Ever After, at 365 showings a year... 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 30/04/2026I only saw your reporting after I submitted this to you. Thanks for all your detailed work. 010
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 28/04/2026@edzitron.com Here is the first mention I have found of an AI service switching to usage-based billing... github.blog/news-insight... I first found it reported on Slashdot.github.blogGitHub Copilot is moving to usage-based billingStarting June 1, your Copilot usage will consume GitHub AI Credits. 100
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 27/04/2026@maddow.bsky.social @lawrenceodonnell.bsky.social Could one or both of you dig into this bill and give it some needed airtime? This codifies the 4th Amendment for a digital age and gives us a private right of action for violations. It's a good law. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 04/04/2026I don't think the road closure (singular) is related to a visit by the President... It's just a portion of Brown Drive, and it appears that part of the hospital complex is under renovation... walterreed.tricare.mil/wayfindingwalterreed.tricare.mil 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Star Trek we need, rather than the Star Trek that some people want. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 24/03/2026fathom that a show might have been something different than their expectations or or what 90's Trek was. Thanks, Sean, for bringing us an authentic and measured take on the state of the show. I have come to enjoy your analysis over the last few years, and I wish for many more years of the 130
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 24/03/2026I am actually angry about this news... I am angry at the state of the world which rewards outrage and clicks instead of meaningful content. I am angry with a media landscape which doesn't give shows a chance to actually grow. I'm angry about folks who are so nostalgia-driven that they can't even 140
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 05/02/2026software to set up a dedicated VMware cluster just for 6 Oracle databases. Otherwise we would have "paid" over $1m in licenses for our 20-some odd hosts on which those databases lived. All because they decided to alter the terms of the deal after the sale, as is common in big tech. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 05/02/2026Oracle is one of the worst companies I've had the displeasure of working with. Aside from the whole Java and MySQL and Virtualbox stuff form the early oughts, their database division produces some nasty legal threats. My employer about a decade ago was forced to spend $250k on hardware and 100

Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 25/11/2025Do we have a general idea when version 4 is likely to be released? I mean on the scale of Ubuntu, Debian, or GIMP v3? ;-) Just curious; it's looking great and long overdue for the pre-eminent audio editor for Linux, at least among non-high-end professionals. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 09/10/2025@adamkinzinger.substack.com How many times did you have to shoot that backwards nothing-but-can hat toss? Impressive none the less! 2110
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025It's worded as “sells, delivers, furnishes, disseminates, provides, exhibits, or presents any material or performance that is obscene or harmful to juveniles", which is vague enough to apply to any website which accepts user submissions, really. This could mean YouTube, social media, or forums. 010
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025I am doing none of it. I refuse to hand over any identity verification stuff to some sketchy 3rd party ID verifier who will inevitably accidentally release it or abuse it. What I will do is reach out to my state representative and complain. 120
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025My understanding is that MS requires the company/website/app to do their own age verification and hold onto copies of the identity documents, leading to an egregious privacy nightmare. Ohio's law allows for deletion of identity documents once verification is processed. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025All of us, and some folks not in Ohio... Any site with actual adult content or could be perceived to have mature content is potentially subject to fines. Bluesky is doing what they have to do. What Ohio residents need to do is to reach out to their state reps and object to them. 110
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Yell at the Ohio legislature that passed this provision in the insanity that is thus year's budget bill. I am going to resch out to mine. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Same problem here, although not for business, but just as annoyed and frustrated. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Please add more detail to your story or provide additional reporting about the follow-on effects of these laws. Our speech and content shouldn't be censored arbitrarily or gated by handing over private information. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Doubly troubling is that the age verification system being used by Bluesky is run by Epic Games who is itself in a bad to be bought by Jared Kushner and a Saudi Arabian financial fund. And this is one of the less sketchy ID verification platforms. 100
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Yeah, not just age verification for adult content websites. Bluesky requires age verification to be able to access DMs. I don't really feel like turning over my ID to some random 3rd party platform to access features here. 100
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 29/09/2025Looks like they have switched to using "ckdf.org" with only a single email address, rather than using a website. The domain is registered with Namecheap. 010
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 20/09/2025Looks like the same IP addresses are used for both sites, and both from Amazon AWS. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 24/08/2025Props also to a person who uses the only correct time and date settings, YYYY-MM-dd and 24hr time. ;-) 000

Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 05/08/2025Very much the same here... It's even enough to the point that Scott Galloway is right on the verge of being too much. He's rightly identified problems with wealth inequality, but his views on "manliness" are just at the edge of my comfort with toxicity. 010

Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 23/07/2025Just found this interview and really appreciate your positions. We are in DESPERATE need for something fresh, new, and down to earth in Ohio. Fellow Buckeye here, and you are 100% spot on with your approach. 120
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 06/07/2025Absolutely sickening... Had to counter a distant family member making a joke about folks being eaten by alligators at a family gathering last night. His rationale was that is was OK because they were illegal... My stance is that regardless of legality, they're human beings and not to be tortured. 180
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 25/06/2025A sprinkling of Docker with Portal error, a smidgen of Podman, and a whole lot of non-containerized services, as that's generally my preference. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 25/06/2025@lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com I've been watching the confusion between yourself and Jen Psaki about ranked-choice voting. The simplest real-world example was the process of the 2020 Iowa caucuses where folks from the smallest pools of voters get shuffled to the highest remaining candidate preference. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 23/06/2025I am so happy for you to have competent representation... This Buckeye is (mis)represented by Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno, pinnacles of strength of character... 120
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 16/06/2025Yeah, most protests were in the hundreds or thousands... There were apparently over 12 MILLION folks turning out at over 2,000 events. Even doing the basic math and assuming some semblance of average, that's 6,000 people per event. My red city of 40k had 350 folks protesting. So dishonest... 120
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 14/06/2025You have a point; I was looking at the national level and not the local level. Yet more of a reason to raise a ruckus about the idea that it's a culture wear issue and not something which is a part of "waste, fraud, and abuse". 030
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 14/06/2025Good thing that the federal funding only accounts for about 10% of NPR and PBS' budget. It's going to be tighter, but this effort won't serve to kill off those organizations. Make sure to bring that up so that this appears like a weak culture war issue on the part of the GOP. 1411
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 13/06/2025The sad part is that spam and email abuse has made the email standards so terrible that it's a royal pain to host your own email, which is what I would suggest folks really do. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 11/06/2025I don't know that this is or isn't true, but simply the fact that the story exists should tell us all that ALL code powering our election infrastructure should be open source. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 10/06/2025Enraged American here. For all the calls for peaceful protests, law enforcement needs to be held to an even higher standards of adhering to the rule of law. This needs to stop, and that officer needs investigated and held accountable. 020
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 10/06/2025Probably because he's likely sundowning. If he is in as bad a shape as he could be, then the sense of familiarity is what helps keep him grounded in reality. I don't think it's a good thing, but until a 25A push, it's probably best to let this happen... 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 09/06/2025This really hurts me because as an innovative company in the creative space, they're amazing. But Bob Iger has been less than ideal for many reasons, especially so now. 010

Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 04/06/2025I will withhold a vote for a candidate on the ballot which is running unopposed and that I don't agree with, but I will *always* submit a ballot and express my opinion. I feel as if it's a vote of no confidence. This typically only happens at the state and local levels, for me. 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 04/06/2025I was nervous at the suggestion of Mark Cuban having "moderately close" access to Kamala Harris... And he's one of the good guys, from his actions so far. I like the Tim Walz approach. He and his wife sold their house when he moved into the Governor's Mansion in MN. No assets for electeds? 000
Rob @nosbig.bsky.social · 01/06/2025Jesus Christ is right, but not in the way she means it. What a nonsensical word salad... And clueless about how her actions could bring on someone else's death faster than otherwise because she doesn't have courage to do what's right. 000
