Today's project is putting together kits for an upcoming beginner workshop. I don't often teach with kits anymore, favoring student deisgned and color planned pieces, but for specific venues and circumstances it makes sense. There's no single way to structure a beginner experience.

I see your point, but a strike in the US would stop a lot of essential services and some production. If you think of people whose work you interact with every day - in all of the stores you might visit, people who work on farms, restaurants, all of that - there'd be disruption if they stopped.

Same! I actually wrote a whole Substack post trying to explain to folks why a 1 day boycott feels performative because we aren't going to break the ruling class by sitting out Target for 24 hours. And a few people got after me for that, saying I was bringing "negativity." :(
