🎉We did it! Thanks to the amazing support from the #QGIS community, both the initial €6000 goal and the extended €7000 goal have been achieved. Native #hydrology tools and the new flow direction & wind barb renderers will land in QGIS 4.4. More info: www.qwast-gis.com/l/crowdfundi...

#SLYR Community Edition Plugin for #QGIS v.7.2.0 just dropped! ...and just in case you missed it, v.7.1.0 was released back mid-July. Keep up to date with our Open Source Pledge (scroll down at north-road.com/slyr/) so you can see when features will be released to the SLYR Community Edition.

Over time, more of the advanced functionality from SLYR (including #ArcGIS Pro support, and conversion from QGIS to ArcGIS Pro) will be released to the community edition too.

You can either purchase a SLYR license to support these files, or alternatively wait for more objects to be released to the community edition and then re-try the conversion.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the MXD format, if any of these unsupported objects are present in an MXD then converting the whole document will fail.

North Road @north-road.com · 14/10/2025

Please note that not all MXD objects supported by the licensed SLYR edition (including annotations or graphics layers) can be converted using the community edition, but vector layers, raster layers and page layouts are fully supported.

Two weeks ago, we quietly released v6.0 of the #SLYR Community Edition - with MXD conversion features that allows you to convert #ArcMap #MXD projects to #QGIS projects. We are stoked that it has already had over 7860 downloads! Hopefully we can beat last version's 98k downloads to 100k!!

Day 3 of our crowdfunder and we’ve hit $3,700 — still a long way to go to reach $75k, but stoked to have some early support rolling in 🙌 Lets make this happen! 💪https://www.lutraconsulting.co.uk/crowdfunding/qgis-3d-for-open-source-digital-twins #foss #crowdfunding #qgis #community

Big thanks to Randal Hale rjhale1971.bsky.social at North River Geographic for your blog using SLYR to convert an #ArcGISPro template to #QGIS. This is exactly what we had in mind when designing it. Oh, and we’ve already fixed the issue with Dynamic Text—it’ll be in the next update shortly!
