And despite the issues I listed, I very much still enjoyed it and is easily the best MCU Spider-Man film ever. It truly is a new beginning for the character and yes I cried, it was beautiful.

I also personally found the Damage Control people kind of annoying tbh. Like I understand why they exist and what they represent, but they're like NPC's to me. Though shout-out to the actor who plays William "Bill" Metzger, he was great, even though he was also pretty obvious.

Not just Hulk smashing shit. That being said, I did like the Hulk and Spider-Man fight sequence, even if it pretty much ends like how every single Hulk fight usually ends. Because I guess the MCU can't write any other way to deal with him.

The soundtrack really gives Tom Holland's Peter his own sort of sauce and identity. This entire film in general finally brings in that emotional, gut-wretching aspect of Spidey that was largely missing with MCU Peter Parker.

And lastly, Jacob is funny as Ned, you know he's the same old, hilarious Ned Leeds (still waiting for Hobgoblin). This film in general gave me Sam Raimi Spider-Man 2 feels. The cinematography and action is some of the best Spider-Man action I've seen on screen in a long time.

However, I liked him a lot in this film and that's largely because it's a PG movie so he feels a lot more genuine and vulnerable compared to any of his shows. Jon Bernthal is a great actor and despite his limited screentime, he offers a lot of humor and surprisingly truth here.

And I can happily say that Spider-Man Brand New Day is the best MCU Spider-Man movie ever. Tom gives what I consider his best performance of his career so far with this film. The way he acts out everything, the sadness, the intelligence, and awkwardness, everything is great.

Overall, The Odyssey is a pretty damn great film that really does a good job at telling the story. I was horrified, cried, and was genuinely inspired by the themes and I would definitely recommend it if you're into this kind of thing.

Keep in mind I never read the original novel so your point of view may be different because you actually know the stories of a lot of these people. This didn't affect my enjoyment though and it still does enough for you to get it narratively.

This films pacing feels pretty quick surprisingly enough, the 3 hours actually fly by. It does slow down sometimes throughout, but for the most part, the film doesn't give you time to breathe at all. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I absolutely loved it.

Now, I'm personally one of those people that thinks the Tom Holland hate is very stupid. Sure he isn't some Oscar winning star, but who the fuck cares? He does a great job in The Odyssey and I think it's his best performance yet.
