I don't know if i forgot or if there was too much other nonsense for you to mention in your past posts, but the "were 2.5 hours late after we scheduled around them" part really sets the tone for the nonsense to come in that record alone

I thought it was neat as a teenager by the combined power of "thought a lot of the dumber stuff was parody/ 'crackfic' stuff" and "being a literal teenager" :V ...And if i remember right, even those didn't let me keep liking it as the chapters got worse with time

It was later in the reply chain, but the disconnect is that my original statement was about the general matter of if you need propaganda/lack of info to make "3/4ths say doing ok, but many of those say economy bad" make sense, rather than the question of those numbers diverging

normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Oh, you're talking about the over time changes. I'd just been talking about the general question of whether you need false information/propaganda for more people to say the economy is bad than people to say their personal economic system is bad

normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
I'm suggesting that people who are personally doing well look at other people doing poorly and judge off that. Ergo, if 3 people are doing well, but all know a 4th doing terribly, then you can easily have 4 people saying the economy is bad without all individually having trouble

normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Why? Someone seeing their neighbor/cousin/friend/whatever suffering from economic situations doesn't make *their* household's economic situation worse, even if it makes then think worse of the economy as a whole?

As in, a different section of the full report, or in the part mentioned in the graph?
100
normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
friend group or family are doing okay but the fourth got laid off because of 'ai' or whatever, then i don't see why the first three would think its a good economy regardless of how they're doing.
100
normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
Then they should ask different and more specific questions. And maybe they did! like i said, i'm not going into the depths of the source today. But as presented the graph shown doesn't seem contradictory at all. "Doing Okay" is a lower bar than "Good economy," and if three out of four of a (cont'd)
100
normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
I don't have time or energy right now to look at the full report to see if theres more specific questions, but personally if you came up to me and said "more than 1 in 4 people are at best barely getting by" i wouldn't respond "yeah thats a good economy"
110
normalabby.bsky.social @normalabby.bsky.social · 31/08/2026
I don't have time to go through the source right now, but just on first glance i have to say that "doing okay or living comfortably" read as different scales than "good or excellent" Ignoring "knowing people doing worse", i'd say "living comfortably" is what i'd compare to "good", not "excellent"

You could definitely argue that the part where the white base crew help prevent the factory for RGM-79 GM in Jaburo from getting bombed was actually one of their biggest contributions to the war, as an addition to your argument

Out of curiosity, are those numbers referencing an actual show of that length and budget? Or just (semi-)random numbers? And are we talking 22 min episodes, or longer? I'm not sure how far i can get into an adaptation of my favorite indie series Destiny Cycle/Forge of Destiny, but i'd try :-P

Admittedly, magic and enchanting does mean that (on a probably limited scale depending on your setting) "magelocks" or whatever could advance them much more quickly, but thats a thing about your setting that you can decide the parameters for, either to prevent it or explore it, so thats a plus imo

I mean, I think the idea of the punchline to that being "yeah, granddad and mom were both teen parents, and granddad was a month from mandatory retirement when the Turians showed up" would be funny. They didn't do that, but if they had to have the line, they should have :-P

I've always been interested in that sort of history, especially since it feels counterintuitive. Surely the racists in charge would have been happy to no longer have the kids they wanted to oppress there. Was the leverage a matter of funding? Public/political opinion?

Having seen that movie once when it came out and only barely remembering anything, every time you talk about it on here i'm reminded of my *own* hot take on The Last Jedi...which is that they definitely stole the plot from Naruto Shippuden episode 289 :V

The systems so fucked. spending far more in manhours to argue back and forth than they "saved" by denying it, and at least this was something that could be ordered out of pocket for a reasonable price, and which we could afford to go several weeks past the time he 'should' have run out...

Like, nevermind that it took forever and the only reason it wasn't a problem was that we had more of it left than we were 'supposed to' from... i'm not actually sure why. i gave up and just went with the out of pocket a couple weeks after the date they were supposed to fill by

Medicaid suddenly wanted a prior auth for a mental health med my dad was taking for over a year, and kept denying appeals... paying for a 3 month supply out of pocket was 46 dollars vs a 15 dollar copay. The cost of the time spent by doctor and agent was almost certainly several times that

I dont read many articles about stuff happening with/to actors, is it normal to mention actors who have nothing to do with the events like this? `Kilcher, who is Native Peruvian, played Pocahontas among a cast that also included Colin Farrell and Christian Bale.` Like why do they matter here?
