Don't need AI to tell us that Paterson, Braithwaite, and Green are big NOPES on progress in OB. When you drive everywhere or walk your same 3 routes every day, why would you care about sidewalks and safe routes for everyone else. These 3 have collective decades in office- is OB better off from it?

The district is says yes ---not to housing--but to "storage and office space" In July, Council approved a Temporary Use Permit for 1538 Monterey Ave for general institutional uses, including temporary municipal offices, office storage, and staff training for Oak Bay Police and Fire Departments.

Councillor Esther Paterson (advies "fiscal responsibility" on her site) has been talking about OB's increasing costs for over a decade, often using her concerns about strains on infrastructure to vote against development. Paterson has served 2 terms on council. Are OB finances any better today?

Behold the 2014 development project that "Eric Wood Zhelka, of the citizen’s group Oak Bay Watch, said 'is beyond the pale' of what’s appropriate for Oak Bay." The new Clive doubled the housing on the site. We can report that the "Village-like character" of OB remains intact over a decade later.
