(2/2) City's violations of those rules makes it more likely that other teams will go under and hurt the health of the sport. College sports ppl want to not pay their athletes, soccer ppl want to make sure that the pro game will survive and not have teams become bankrupt (which is worse for players)

(1/2) Soccer's long term health. Many owners are tempted to outspend their means in soccer, most rules in European soccer are about stopping owners from spending too much money so that teams can continue to operate if the owner decides to either sell or becomes bankrupt (both have happened).

The other thing is that they don't let position players actually try! Like Tony Pena Jr was throwing real pitchers during his relief appearance with the Royals, now Andrew Vaughn isn't even close to attempting to throw his normal speed while playing catch. It's ridiculous

ICE has fallen out of the headlines but July marked the largest number of migrant detentions ever on record. Five migrants have died in ICE custody in the last two months. It's also currently impossible to legally migrate to this country, as 100% of visa applications have been paused.

Talk to my parents, who live in Northbrook, two major things: 1. There are two businesses, the Bean Bar and Ace Hardware that are considered community staples and people don't want to get rid of them 2. Regular worries about traffic, parking etc. 1 makes sense and 2 is nonsense

Biss positioned himself and is the most natural successor of Jan Schakowski (the incumbent) who was 1 of J Street's greatest champion in DC. He even got her endorsement! Since winning he's become significantly more critical of Israel than on the campaign. It's not only counterproductive but harmful
