Non-GMO Summit 2026: Preparing for Europe’s New GMO Rules
The Non-GMO Summit 2026 (13 May, Frankfurt), co-organised by ENGA, could not come at a more important moment. Just days after the Summit, on 18 May, the European Parliament is scheduled to vote on legislation on New GMOs (New Genomic Techniques). If adopted, the law would enter into force shortly afterwards and have to be applied two years after that.

This morning, the ENVI Committee of the @europarl.europa.eu approved the provisional agreement on #NewGMOs (59–24–2). 🇪🇺 The deal allows category 1 #NGTs (≈94% of plants in the pipeline) to be placed on the market without risk assessment, labelling or traceability. ⛔️ 🔎
