That being said, it’s not the kind of thing we should be lumping in with plagiarism imo, it should be in a similar category to master studies and such, where it would be best practice to provide a source/credit when possible and assume not everyone in the audience already knows the original

Like I do think credit is important, and a lot of meme images/redraws don’t really do that? And you often end up in situations where people are 3-4 times removed from the original, so they don’t know the context nor the originator

Personally I think it’s just not possible to steal a composition or an idea the same way it’s not possible to steal a style, but it *does* call into question whether heavy referencing is a form of stealing or not, especially since people don’t often credit the original source

Rene did used to bottom more, he was more 50/50 when he was younger and more spry but as he aged he got lazier and also less flexible and bottoming eventually got too painful and annoying for him to tolerate so he just stopped doing it. Juice isn’t worth the squeeze and all that

I wanted to draw my priest oc with @ramlightly.bsky.social 's oc Father Basil! I adore their art and their characters, I've been a fan for a while and just wanted to show my appreciation. I tried to replicate their style because I LOVE grayscale with a splash of color. Hope you don't mind!
