Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 12hI realize that you probably say yes to this question about any movie, but : Is it worth seeing in cinema? Like, do the effects really hit better at size? 100 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 14hYup, people act like gatekeeping is bad by default, but a lot of fates are there for a reason. :) Making folks learn the key code seems like a fair way to handle it. 010 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 15hI am in my 50’s and there was a while (at least where I was) where “boofing” and “hooping” both meant the same thing. 010 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 15hI totally flubbed that. Meant to say “above all else”. In the first bit. It’s a common issue in many fandom orgs, for example. 110 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 18hlol. Ok. I am over 50, so I turn to young folks like you for help.. 010 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 18hDid somebody redefine “Boof” from a verb to a noun? And if so, what are we calling it when he put something up the down chute for faster absorption? Asking for a friend. 210 2
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 19hAll of which to say, since those aren’t really an option here : I put a pride flag in my name. 120 2

Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 22hHow are we gonna find each other without slapping it into our bios? Finally, you don’t have to add it in at every conversation because without a reason to think otherwise, folks assume you’re straight. Fun story ; they do the same thing with me unless I wear something that shouts “I’m queer.” 110 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 22hculture or situations, folks can look at my profile and get that I’m talking from lived experience, I’m not somebody who knows what poppers are because they watched an episode of Queer as Folk but steel feels qualified to talk about the queer life 3) I like being in community with other queers. 110 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 22hNumber of reasons : 1 - if you don’t make it clear right away, some straights might say something inappropriate because they think they’re “safe”. I’d rather they just know right away and not have to deal with the “I’m not homophobic, it’s just a joke” crap. 2) If I make a comment about queer 220 2
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 22hAh, didn’t realize you were doing them both together. I’m much more hopeful about this one that last. The right made a real concerted push, but failed, and then they fell apart. They’ve lost seats, standing and members. My hope is a minority NDP dependent on the Greens to push anything through. 110 1

Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 23hrewarding the employees who he felt were being underappreciated. Big time. So big time boss-washing, but having worked in the food industry with an abusive shit of a kitchen/front manager, wow was it nice to see one of that type get what was coming to him. All to say this is a fucking psyop. 020 2
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 23hAnyways, faced with the revelation that he had been treating the CEO of the chain like a punching bag, and with witnesses to his behaviour being a constant, dude doubles down. Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 23hfor employees, swearing all the time, insulting the work done, and again with the swearing so loud the wait staff had to repeatedly ask him to keep it down because the customers could hear him. Utterly unrepentant asshole. My respect for the boss to be able to just swallow it and see where it went 110 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 23hwas like, and the first two were solid. He found issues where staff were being underutilized or overworked and unrewarded at the first two, but nothing egregious. The third one, the kitchen manager was so out of fucking line it was shocking. He was making up crude and usually homophobic nicknames 110 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 23hsaw the title “The Kitchen Manager is so Bad Boss Has to Fire Him on the Spot” and hey, that’s management getting their asses kicked, so I decided to roll with it. Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 17/10/2026must apologize that it came across that curt. It’s just one of those arguments, desires that are an ongoing request from everybody to make everything free but…while we exist within a capitalist system, everything gets paid for somewhere. 010 1
Once upon a network dreary… @noncompliant.myatproto.social · 17/10/2026Nope, legitimately asking*. I’d love for things to be free, but I also accept that the people doing the work should earn a living wage.
