Are there any writing challenges that happen in October? Can I start something called like spooky shorts? Idk but I want to do something that isn’t the big November challenge for writing.

Any writers that follow me on here that want to do a a draft swap for some short stories? I have a few in draft state (horror, dark academia, comedy, and some romance) and would love to do a swap and get some feedback on if the ideas are 'sound' or have some weight to them. #booksky

Gotta say, super thankful for everyone supporting my writing and books. That said, I am working on some new stories for the website, and also looking at publishing some other works. Plus in the spirit of what I have done in the past for gamedev, I want to write up some stuff on publishing books.

Random day off, looking to get two series drafts done and out to some test readers, and do a pass for book 3. Maybe I spend some time at the coffee shop today?

My tummy hurts but I am being very brave about it.

Currently lost to playing Valhiem, but I do have a few short stories I am editing to send out to those who are on the mailing list, along with updates for book 3. I am also working on a few other projects that I can't wait to show off!

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 15/09/2026

Can’t stay up all night playing valhiem. That would be bad for my sleep schedule.

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 12/09/2026

Looking forward (not) to nuking bazzite off my streaming PC and swapping over to cachy. Like holy fuck linux, all I wanted to do was relax and play Valhiem but noooooooo gotta be linux and just randomly stop working for no damn reason.

I have 6 more raptors to assemble from all the extra StarCraft TMG minis and then, I can start the diorama! Super excited to start it this weekend, for the Zerg I am going with volcanic themes which I think will contrast wonderfully with the purples

Anyone saying this in the year 2026, should have their editor take their journalism certificate and put it through the shredder. And/or revoke the (I assume) AI agents that are writing this slop. Real talk though, it’s articles like this that stopped me from reading polygon. Y’all lost the plot.

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 06/09/2026

Before fully diving in and writing the next book, I am working on painting and a diorama. I also have a few short stories I want to get out of my system.

A few readers have reached out and asked, yes book 3 is plotted and I am going to start working on that this month. I will also open up for alpha/beta readers. Thank you again for the amazing support? For my writing? I uh…. Idk it doesn’t feel real? So thank you, and thanks to booksky as well.

This post fulfilled my nutritional needs for the day, even if I was a bit nervous at first to watch it. Oh, and I appreciate the protein.

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 01/09/2026

Alright Book 2 updates! First thank you all for the crazy support. Like it is kinda crazy to me that you all enjoy the stories I am telling and my writing. I will deal with the imposter syndrome later. Importantly, I have fixed the amazon/KDP stuff so it should be good!

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 30/08/2026

Appreciate everyone support of the second book launch! I mentioned this in a few other places but, if you pick it up let me know! I am trying to make sure I have a list of folks to thank in the special edition when all three are out!

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 30/08/2026

Absolutely not me forgetting I had to do like two other things for Amazon so people can do the kindle thing and all that. How come writing the book is not the hardest part of the process lmao

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 26/08/2026

like 4 days out from my next book, and instead of marketing it and talking about it, I am stuck in engineering hell that is all the project work that I have on my plate. internal screaming is real.

030

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 23/08/2026

Ahhhhhhh Lightroom broke assisted culling on like all of the methods I use to help make sure I don’t miss anything. I have to sort like 3k photos now ahhhhhhhhh

030

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 23/08/2026

I can thank folks enough that supported me by purchasing my first book “Containment”, and by reaching out to me with thoughts after reading that it directly relates to the sequel being realized. “Recursion” has been great to write, and hope it is received the same way. 📚💙

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 21/08/2026

A few days out from book 2 being released and I have seen an uptick of people picking up book 1. Thank you for the support! I’m excited for everyone to read “Recursion”! I have also reached out to a few local places to set up a table and am working on logistics for that.

Stathem (spelling) movies are awesome and just good down right entertainment. My dream is that one day the man gets access to the die hard franchise because he would do wonders.

tumblr is having a great one about this, little masterpiece of a post I'd say

first post reads: Pro-censorship wattpad refugees drama is so funny to me because when I started using ao3 as a kid I was a devout mormon and I thought that reading anything even remotely pornagraphic was a sin and would ruin my life. So when I was 13 and found ao3 I went "oh awesome I found a fanfic website with a filtering system so I won't ever randomly stumble into porn. This is great! I was really worried about seeing something I didn't want to see on the other platforms." I didn't read any smut online until like three years later. If a mormon 13 year old can figure out 'don't like don't read' wattpad users can too cmon you guys i believe in you.
reblog reads: "you're less internet savy than a 13 year old mormon" is a diabolical thing to say to someone, I support it

Author proof of book 2 has shown up! Always fun and a little surreal seeing my work like printed and bound in a book. Kinda crazy. Only a small tear or two.

So what’s the over/under over the course of my vacation I knock out two or three chapters of the last book in a trilogy? Writing isnt work right so that is allowed on vacation?

020

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 11/08/2026

Love that I purposely tried to go to sleep early, and my body only slept for an hour and then woke up. I guess I will write??? Book 3 won’t write itself (fuck ai)

hey author friends of #booksky Do we have anything for author swaps or mailing list swaps for up and coming releases? I have been looking at some other resources around the web, but with my second book coming out I am trying to be a bit more on the pre-release push this time around

Jeff "Pixel" Atelier @nomadic-pixel.com · 03/08/2026

I need to start doing that whole advertising of Book 2, but uh...I think it is nap time. I got or rather, I am getting hit with some sort of throat infection and it is winning.
