I think Goose has received way more mainstream press than Phish did in 94-95. If Goose has a chip on their shoulder right now, they need to get off the Internet. And re the Dead, they didnt even acknowledge Phish’s existence in the mid 90s. Trey very publicly passed the torch to goose years ago

In 94-95 Phish was selling out MSG etc but they were still very much a cult band and were obviously in the shadow of the Dead. Goose has been featured in tons of mainstream publications; they’re a wildly popular and successful band and are treated as such.

It’s fucking incredible and one of the peak live Phish experiences of my life. I caught the first two C&Ps in 1996. I am so grateful I got to experience the 2026 MSG Crosseyed 30 years after catching Coral Sky. In fact, gonna throw it on again right now.

I haven’t been to a phish show then a phish after show since 1999 (Michael Ray and the Cosmic Krewe at Tipitina’s post- Phish’s UNO Lakefront Arena show. Should be interesting to see how I manage this two nights in a row. Good thing the Phish shows start early!
