i think that's subjective. i, personally, definitely wouldn't have appreciated that segment if i had no prior knowledge. meaning not having played higu would've detracted significantly from my overall enjoyment and appreciation of that character's dialogue

thinking about the popularity of so many "redraw trends" and plagiarism of compositions by all sorts of artists (it comes up often for gposing but 2D artists do it too). i have to sum up my discomfort with it as follows: it's artists treating other artists the same way A/I treats art as data
