Fair point! Gotta explore other methods to encourage oneself to draw instead of doomscrolling all day. If it’s not songs or videos, lofi’s got me covered in the focus department. No distracting lyrics that makes your mind wander.

Very much this. I think it also helps to occasionally step off of drawing and do something else for a few before going back into it to avoid mental fatigue. I like to watch videos for a few minutes before going back to drawing in case I feel stuck or I wanna give my hand a break.

I think it’s just a sign rather than it compensating directly. Could be caused by poor posture, your chair not being made for prolonged periods of sitting or lack of movement. (Or all) My recommendation would be to get an office chair. Those will serve you better than a regular chair.

Try going on 30 minute walks daily. Whenever you’re working on something or having to sit for long periods, get up, do some stretches, and walk around a little. The body is most likely trying to compensate for the lack of movement.

It’s why I sometimes prefer finding songs I can loop cuz they be 20+ minutes long and it doesn’t get tiring, but that’s just me with lofi on YouTube. But sometimes an ad sneaks past and I wish I could backdrop the person who thought 2 minutes of explaining their services was a good idea. 🙃

Potentially. Not sure what your routine is like, but you could try waking up without your phone for the first hour of the day. It’ll feel very weird at first, but making it a habit might help your brain get a proper reset. Just a suggestion, of course.
