Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 27/08/2026I wonder if there was even a mechanism to snitch. If not, I hope it's added soon. 161
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 10/08/2026Did all of that water come out of the veg, or did you add a brine? 120
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 12/06/2026How about we go with a compromise temperature scale? 0 Deg is the freezing point of water, and 100 Deg is human body temp. Easy enough to convert to or from C by multiplying by 100/37 or 37/100 depending on the direction. Did I mention the unit is just "Deg"? (no floaty circle thing) 000

Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 02/03/2026Here's another everweave.ai . Uses the LLM as the dungeon master. It's early access, so I don't want to judge it too harshly. I have a feeling that these things get really expensive to operate if you want to actually have enough context to be interesting. I am still hoping for someone to crack this.everweave.aiEverweaveApp that lets you play DnD anywhere, anytime! 030
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 13/01/2026Agree. Maybe the only worse interaction is trying to type on a TV with a remote. I don't know if the motion controls make it worse. 010
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 05/01/2026The thumbs-up 👍 emoji appears to by my left hand (from my point of view), but the thumbs-down 👎is someone else's left hand. I don't see my own fingers when I make the thumbs down gesture. Shout-out to lefties I guess, but this switch in perspective is weird. 000
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/10/2025I made the mistake of listening to Boléro this morning. It's still playing in my head. How do you make it stop? 110
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 19/09/2025@scalzi.com has a lot of fun books. Miles really liked Starter Villain (though commented about the amount of swearing). 000
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 06/01/2025Yeah. Hopefully people aren't intentionally following the Russian blue accounts. 😆 020
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 06/01/2025Is this just for the Discover feed? I don't see it on Following. 120
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 31/12/2024I read you need to change it, then change it back. But that was a while ago, so... Who knows. 120
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024The problem is that the db grows pretty quickly from regular users just following/unfollowing a few here or there. So, then I have to go back and prune the db. I'm still playing with it to see what works. 010
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024I have terrible Python code. :D I'm using Jetstream instead of the full firehose to watch for follows and unfollows. I cache counts in memory per did and then write it to a SQLite as cumulative count by (did, day, hour). I can then query for dids with high activity (either total, daily, or by hour). 110
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024Thanks for the shout out. I'm trying to tune this list, so you may see some changes. 000
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024@jeffbach.bsky.social Hi. It looks like we are working on similar automated block lists, but you were smart enough to put yours on a different account. One thing I've been looking into lately is high churn for following/unfollowing. 100
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024I don't manually populate the list. It's all done through code based on following activity. I wonder if someone is messing with clearsky. 110
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024I can't find you on the list and it doesn't look like your account is even close to qualifying for it. I'm curious why you thought you were on the list. 110
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024Oops forgot the alt text: image shows a table of did, total_follows, total_unfollows, and total_activity for accounts who are spamming by following and unfollowing a lot. 000
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 08/12/2024Does @moderation.bsky.app report on this kind of nonsense? 100
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 07/12/2024Over 6000 users on this block list so far and I feel like I'm still missing tens of thousands (at least). I suspect a lot of the spam accounts are following and unfollowing to keep the total count down while still generating many notifications. Who else is working on this? 200
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 01/12/2024I set up my custom handle, which meant I needed to slap together a little web page www.nogwater.dev (Claude.ai generated for now).nogwater.devNogwater Dev - Personal Projects 000
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 30/11/2024Was this in the regular docs? I'm sure you're right, but it's not totally obvious that class-based components aren't just objects that inherit some functionality for talking to React. How did it work before fiber? That said, I agree that hooks aren't any more magical. 100
Aaron McBride @nogwater.dev · 29/11/2024For my long weekend hacking project, I'm playing with the Bluesky APIs and Jetstream to create a block list of users who spam by following too many people. bsky.app/profile/did:... 481
