Could not agree more. Politically she has been *the* active architect of what happened at the EHRC more than anyone, and what makes it most insulting is it’s just another one of her gimmicky stunts to get attention from the press, which is the entire point of politics to her.

JFC. I have not hallucinated the last 20 years where I have been in men’s toilets, changing rooms and hospital wards, all of which I am now barred from. It is just a sheer refusal to accept trans people’s experiences and that we didn’t start existing last week.

I highly doubt I would vote Labour ever again. My wife and I wrote multiple letters to MPs and ministers and they all come back with platitudes which will not acknowledge the segregation they have waved in, nor the nullification of my GRC. It will take a whole new generation of MPs, I fear.

I transitioned 20 years ago, did not think Cameron would have been peak trans acceptance in my life, but… I haven’t yet encountered ‘you must accept this as reform are worse’ as much as people stuck simply refusing to accept anything has got worse, given they are cis and they haven’t noticed.

I can only assume it comes from the personal negative feelings of BP and WS etc towards trans people, as what poll ever says this issue matters much to most cis voters? That and basically trying to avoid the press asking gotcha questions they feel awkward about. Moral cowardice is hard to fix.

The government crackdown is part of its ongoing “My Family Is Safe” campaign targeting LGBTQ+ people in the name of protecting family values, even though Turkey doesn’t have laws explicitly banning homosexuality, Reuters reported.

The Istanbul chief prosecutor’s office said 26 individuals were detained, with authorities seizing drugs, digital equipment, smuggled alcohol, and a firearm. Authorities also reportedly blocked access to dozens of websites and social media accounts linked to LGBTQ+ organizations, activists, and rights advocates.

If aethiopicus is taken as a 2nd declension noun instead then you could use it in the genitive plural, so phalanx aethiopicorum. Also, maybe the accusative is okay after all, if it is meant as an accusative of exclamation e.g o phalangem aethiopicam! (Oh woe the black battalion)!

phalanx is a feminine noun. The accusative is phalangem (or if you acknowledge it is just a Greek borrowing then phalanga) not phalangelem (maybe a different word is meant?) aethiopicus is a standard 212 adjective so it would be phalanx aethiopica (nom) or phalangem aethiopicam (acc).

I have heard of Simon Goldhill (1st person mentioned in the video), even briefly met him, read his books and my good friend worked with him years ago. What is astonishing is that I did not know he had resigned or why and I am more likely to pick up on his name in an article than most. Says it all.

TL;DR Trans people’s experiences are not real. Instead, her opinion about those experiences is ‘the truth’. Society should treat trans people only in a way she deems appropriate, and she will dictate what that is and what the law should be via social media posts. 👍
