Social media storm for Palestine 11/01/2024 and 12/01/2024
Palestinian advocacy grounds are asking people online like you to partake in a social media storm in conjunction with the ICJ hearings of South Africa against Isreal for violations of its obligatioms under the Genocide Convention; a Cyber Intifada (Cyber Revolution). For those who don't know, a social media storm is when people organize to simultaneously post about the same topic, with the same hashtag and about the same topic, to spread awareness and clog up Internet servers and feeds on social media platforms. It's a similar strategy to emailing and calling your representatives in large amounts so they're forced to face the issue you want to represent, but instead it targets everyone.

Instructions:
On Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, TikTok and whatever other platforms you have you should:

Prepare/ schedule posts/ content containing the hashtag "EndIsrealsGenocide". These posts should be of videos, pictures, statements, and other forms of evidence of the genocide Isreal is committing against Palestinians.
If you can be active online at the same time of the storm, interact with, comment, share, etc... each other's posts to maximize engagemrnt with the hashtag and increase its effectiveness.

Schedule these posts for:
Thursday January 11th, from 10AM to 12PM in South Africa and Palestine time. This correspknds to 3AM in EST, 12AM in PST, 11AM Mecca time, 8AM GMT & UTC, and 4PM China time).
Friday, January 12th, from 10AM to 12PM in South Africa and Palestine time. This corressponds to 3AM in EST, 12AM in PST, 11AM in Mecca time, 8AM GMT& UTC, and 4PM China time).
If you're unsure what time zone you live in, please consult this list (there's a link but I can't provide it rn. Lemme know in the comments and I'll provide) and start trying to make the calculations now.
Prepare your posts, compile the evidence beforehand if need be. You can look through the tags in my blog "zionist occupation" to compile the stuff in there. Try to focus on statements from Palestinian survivors.

It hasn't been stated outright here yet, but Toby's family has been Palestinian/Arab-Isreali since the first version of the comic drawn many years ago. I'm heartbroken and devastated to see an internationally-sanctioned genocide happening right now against the Palestinian people. It feeos wrong to continue use the character without acknowledging this and denouncing my country (the US) for its complicity across the political spectrum in funding it.

I do want this comic to be something fun to read, and I fear in any way centering myself and my work in this conversation (mine is not an important voice in this), but since you're here reading my comic I really wanted to say something, and I apologize if it doesn't strike the right tone. Please be respectful in the comments. I hope for peace and healing for all. 🇵🇸
