Another reason to abolish it. It's uncivilized and doesn't reduce crime. It gives the government too much power over its citizens, can't be undone in case of mistakes.

Sure, we all do, but that's effectively the Trump voter motivation too. Bring back boring analysis.

Meh, this isn't an American thing (look at Manhattan). It developed organically from wide spaces to move people and goods combined with a low population. But we can certainly do better in our urban areas now.

With a touch screen you need to take your eyes off the road. Physical buttons can be navigated by feel alone. Big difference.

Whether it's a trade war with Canada or an actual war with Iran, the pattern is the same: Americans are paying the price for the President's choices.

Going home I passed 6 cars in a row with people driving at inconsistent speed and swerving. Every single one I passed was on their #phone... WTF is wrong with you people?? You're like crack addicts. There is NOTHING too important not to pull over. Healthy people are sick of it! #PutItDown #driving!

Everyone wants to throttle down the speed of fast ebikes to sub-20 MPH and ban them etc. sure I guess. But no one talking about the gradual creep of cars getting larger and ignoring speed limits and blowing thru red lights.

I agree with your premise but not with the assertion that the Internet has much to do with it. Pre-online, there was a long history of discount stores and cheaper quality goods (remember K-mart?). Sure, there is a wide variety of goods available now, but demand drives consumption, not the supplier.

Touchscreens are a safety menace. Unlike physical buttons navigated by touch only, screens require the driver to look away from the road. I can't believe we allow them.
