Sci Fi/Fantasy dilemmas have a tendency to become real life dilemmas (think of all the "what is human" debates earlier "philosophical zombie" debates, and now we're dealing with those questions IRL with AI). I can totally see the Hope question being relevant with future Uploaded Intelligence.

This is the solution because 99% of Republicans are bought out by corpos, and 65% of Democrats are bought out by corpos. Switching from Rubs to Dems reduces corpo control. Getting away from corpo-bought sub-parties in the dems wrest control from corpos further.
