From the data I can find, the propensity to join the military has gone down and the number of people who identify as vegan has gone up. It’s all about the values someone holds. Are you willing to harm another human being? Are you willing to harm another animal?

That’s an amazing poem. I’m sorry the situation that motivated you to write it hasn’t been resolved. Maybe one day it will be our victory song.

Plants can’t feel pain. They don’t have a mind or nervous system. But, even if that weren’t true, a vegan diet would still be required. You need to feed animals. Veganism removes this, thus, more efficiently growing calories. Resulting in less harm than a non-vegan diet even if plants could feel.
A bar chat showing that a vegan diet uses far less crop land than non-vegan ones. Current global diets require 4.13 hectares of land. Vegan ones require 1 billion hectares.

Non-vegans point to the inevitability of death and the “circle of life” as a reason for eating meat. However, the only events that are involved in this circle are our birth and eventual death. Killing an animal violates this circle by stealing their limited time. Let them enjoy it. Go vegan.

Honestly? I lost interest in consuming those products. It’s kind of like if you realized your favorite sausages were made with human flesh. You might become angry, cry, feel a sense of guilt, and/or throw up, but the desire to eat those sausages is now gone.

Something being natural doesn’t make it good. Something being unnatural doesn’t make it bad. For example, ducks naturally rape. Humans unnaturally cure deadly diseases. Ergo, “it’s unnatural” isn’t a valid argument against veganism.
