Elias Petterson (EP40) has a four game point streak (with the possibility to extend) to start this season. #Canucks

D-Petey is a huge #Canucks drafting and development success story. First Canucks pick since 2020 to reach 100 NHL GP (and only so far). 1 of 4 Canucks picks in third round or later since 2010 to reach 100 NHL GP (Hutton, Forsling, Gaudette).

AI researchers: >10% chance we all die in the next decade. MoneyPuck: 8.7% chance the Canucks make the playoffs this year. The start of another #Canucks season has me wondering if I'll ever see a Stanley Cup in Vancouver. Read more at the link below 👇 noahstrang.substack.com/p/will-the-c...

Will Jake DeBrusk score 30 goals this season? He had 28 his first year with the #Canucks. 23 last year despite a (low for him) 10.5% shooting percentage. DeBrusk should be on the top line and first power play unit. Some puck luck and DeBrusk could get 30.

With Horvat being named Islanders captain I'm reminded of this column I wrote about the #Canucks decision to back Miller instead. No matter the on-ice results, the way the situation was handled away from the rink meant it was doomed to fail. dailyhive.com/vancouver/ca...

#Canucks prospects down 1-0 to the Kraken late in the first. Not much Medvedev can do on the breakaway. Game has been pretty ugly so far with lots of broken plays.

First ever #Canucks Fan Fest will take place from September 24-26. It'll feature a blue carpet player experience, public practice, career networking event, preseason game, and more. Kudos to the team this looks cool.

For sure but they have just a handful of games right now. Could easily 2x-3x with no problem

I can’t decide if Pettersson finding his game this year after his struggles significant influenced this team exploding to smithereens over last few years would be more cruel than just another mediocre ~60 point season on a bad team. #Canucks

3.3% of NFL games will be played internationally this year. How long until that number hits 5%? 10%? NHL (with way more games) still under 0.3%. How long until that hits 1%?

What do you need to see from Jonathan Lekkerimäki this season to call his year a success? The Swedish sniper is tied for 27th among 2022 NHL draft picks in goals. He was drafted 15th overall. #Canucks

Cooper Flagg clearly uncomfortable with the “white people stuff vs black people stuff” game he’s playing with Shaq and Mac McClung at #FanaticsFest. Shaq looks at Flagg and says: “You are so corporate man, loosen up.” 😂

#Canucks take Caleb Malhotra as expected. I think a lot of the Reid stuff today was a smokescreen. The Canucks now have two strong centre prospects with Malhotra and Cootes.

0120

Noah Strang @noahstrang.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

It's hard to discern what is a smoke screen and what is truth but from what I'm hearing, I strongly believe the #Canucks will take Malhotra at three. Would I bet my life on it? No. But that is where this seems to be going.

Blackhawks likely could've had their pick of defencemen at #4 including Reid, Carels, Verheoff, etc. Instead, they choose to take a gamble on Byram. I hate it.
