Believe the hype. 4 episodes in and this is one of the most compelling psychological thrillers I've ever seen. I can't wait to be fully caught up!

Guardians of the Galaxy reading recs! Their history is very different to that of Gunn’s interpretation, but there’s still a lot to love. The DnA run is the most beloved, but the Cates run is my favorite.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2008)
*should be read after Annihilation and Conquest

The Thanos Imperative (2010)
*conclusion to the Cosmic Saga

Kept the video topic a secret for a while and y'all need something of mine to get hyped for so might as well reveal what it is now that I'm in the recording stages for it. It's essentially gonna be a response to a particularly bad video by Ranting for Vengeance.

This fake Catholic wants to talk down to the Pope for speaking of the values of Christ in protecting immigrants. He doesn't actually follow the faith, he just wants to use it as an excuse for his white supremacy and cruelty. The American strain of conservative Catholicism is a cancer on the faith.

This image is a screenshot of a tweet from Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) criticizing Pope Francis's stance on immigration. The tweet claims that the Pope's letter on immigration is "pure nonsense" and argues that deportation does not "damage dignity." Walsh asserts that national sovereignty is what truly protects dignity and criticizes the Pope for allegedly living behind walls while opposing border security. The tweet suggests that the Pope's stance undermines national identity and sovereignty and labels his statements as harmful. The tweet has received significant engagement, with 433.9K views as of February 12, 2025.

Deniz Camp's Ultimates is going to end up being the best Marvel comic ever made. I can feel it. 10 consecutive BANGERS (including the One Year In special)!

I can't get too excited for the MCU's Fantastic Four when I remember that the post-credits scene could easily be this... creature

FANTASTIC 4️⃣ READING RECS They're relevant now This is my time to shine Info/orders in alt text

Mark Waid's run

Fantastic Four (1998) #60-70
Fantastic Four (1998) #500-524

A great modern starting point that characterizes the core four well. Arguably Waid's second best work for Marvel (because his Daredevil is just THAT good).

J. Michael Straczynski's run

Fantastic Four (1998) #527-532

A shorter run that takes place soon after Waid's and leads into the hot garbage that is Civil War. The calm before the storm. This is JMS at his peak.

Jonathan Hickman's run

[FULL ORDER BELOW (it's very long)]

This run is such a beautiful payoff to the decades of comic history preceding it. Secret Wars is everything you've heard and more.

Ryan North's run

Fantastic Four (2022) #1-(ongoing)

Contrary to the others, this run takes the team back to their roots in sci-fi anthology and wackiness. Everyone is characterized so well. This is my favorite run, though the rest are all great for their own reasons.

Look, as long as the MCU Fantastic Four movie boosts the sales of @ryannorth.ca’s incredible run, I’ll be happy with it.

Best Marvel characters for Superman fans to get into (each one embodying a different aspect of the character and taking it to its extreme)

Nova (Richard Rider)
- tragedy
- duality
- crushing pressure

Recommendation: Annihilation (event)

Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd)
- loneliness
- longing for connection
- humanity despite heritage

Recommendation: Silver Surfer (2014)

Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
- resilience
- tenacity
- responsibility

Recommendation: Ultimate Spider-Man (2024-ongoing)

There could never be a DC equivalent to Rivals. Those chucklefucks glaze Batman too much for it to even be comparable when it comes to equal treatment across all aspects of lore.

Rewatching Band of Brothers in one of my history classes, and man, it’s the best. Top-of-the-line TV in every single way. Solid contender for best series ever made.

The Abnett/Lanning Cosmic Saga reads like two kids giving their Legos the most insane and action-packed lore imaginable (but in a really, really good way).

Read these comics instead of… I mean, BEFORE watching Daredevil: Born Again! (info/issues in alt text)

Dark Art:
- Daredevil (2015) #10-14

This arc introduces Muse!

Know Fear:
- Daredevil (2019) #1-5

Chip Zdarsky’s entire run is probably the most influential story on where the new Disney+ show will take the characterization of Matt Murdock. I highly recommend both the 2019 and 2022 series in their entirety, but this first arc is the most essential.

Devil’s Reign:
- Devil’s Reign #1-6
- Devil’s Reign: Omega

This is the event that takes place in between the two Zdarsky Daredevil series, but it can be read on its own for those who want a Mayor Fisk storyline relevant to what we’ll be seeing on-screen.
