Perhaps political waves aren't created by elections, but by scars. Ukraine. Gaza. Iran. Three successive shocks striking the same generation before the last wound has healed. If wars leave political scars, this generation may carry a very distinctive one.

@news.sky.com WFF?! “Debunks” is an astonishingly wrong word here (?) Trump dismisses AI-safety concerns as a “hoax” 100% contrary to a substantial & growing body of expert evidence demonstrating real risks. Trump debunked nothing, but rather he sits more incredibly dangerous, brain-dead bluster.

What struck me most was how wonderfully humble and down-to-earth these Reform lads are. Fighting "the establishment", of course... from private members' clubs over champagne and oysters, with discreet handshakes and wealthy backers. Proper salt-of-the-earth stuff. 🤣 www.verbatiminvestigations.com

Doting on this album. The remarkable thing is these are new songs. The sound is comfortingly familiar, but the lyrics hit like they're responding to the world we're living in. Maybe the Stones' strongest work since the last great Western flirtation with fascism.

You generate and or Photoshop a picture and then take a picture of that picture with your phone.. hey presto: metadata shows it's a genuine photo taken on that day. Magic. Looking forward to the press conf pre August 3rd.

... so Greenspan bears responsibility. Thankfully, contemporaries like Volcker, Buffett, Soros & Reich came to more positive, humanitarian conclusions instead: economies, markets & wealth are not goals in themselves: Their only purpose is to improve as many lives as possible while minimising harm.

And I don't agree that he had a key, sole, or even especially significant responsibility for 2008. He left in 2006. But the libertarianism, trickle-down economics BS, and the whole "we all work for the bond market" mantra he helped legitimise? Absolutely; That created the conditions for the crash.

Very funny but also scary.. more funny though.. pretty clearly Greenspan used hyperbole on purpose and both men knew it was theatre, clowning for the media before you go back to serious business... Now however - ...the clown show is all there is and it's dealt serious.

It's the fascist playbook: Nastiness, personal attacks, no-limit rivalry, clandestine backstabbing & public degradations are not only acceptable but actively encouraged in the leadership. Only the strongest survive & who survives is the strongest. Think tha good leadership? You are at best an idiot.

Absolutely. It's about reinforcement & deepening existing views. Algorithmic engines don't do truth; just attention, i.e, maximise eyeballs, clicks, hovering, follow - outage - that's what keeps people engaged. Tell them what they want to hear, then keep raising the stakes to keep their interest.

Private Sector.. "Regular pay growth across the economy as a whole remained steady at 3.4 per cent and was stronger than the 3.2 per cent analysts had expected". How this is more of a headline than inflation and unemployment numbers being surprisingly positive.. well, you tell me (?)

.. Obama's deal was preventive diplomacy; Trump's is expensive damage control. That's why it'll likely be more fragile, more costly and worse for ordinary Iranians.

Obama's deal was designed to prevent Iran becoming today's problem. Trump's deal is being negotiated because abandoning Obama's deal helped create today's problem.

Not really difficult to understand (?) Yes, Iran’s regime is bad. But no, that doesn’t justify Western bombing unless it’s lawful and strategically coherent.

The point you’re missing, is how climate science works: we don’t rely on anecdotes. We combine ice cores (800k+yrs), tree rings, sediments, corals, historical logs & modern satellites. 1970s “cooling scare” was a media myth, not a scientific consensus. Telling me to “go away” doesn’t change that ;-)

No2BS @no2bs.bsky.social · 27/01/2026
...And the 1970s “global cooling scare” is often misremembered — even then, most peer-reviewed studies already projected warming from CO₂. Long-term data (ice mass loss, sea level rise, ocean heat) all point one way, regardless of what any of us remember. Please don't shut yourself off to science.

...and Ice melts because average global energy (heat) is rising, even if some places still get colder extremes. In fact, warming can increase volatility and cold snaps by disrupting jet streams ....

No2BS @no2bs.bsky.social · 27/01/2026
Local cold spells and personal memory don’t override global measurements. Climate is measured globally over decades using satellites, ocean heat content, ice mass balance, and temperature averages — not regional weather or family anecdotes.

It’s wilful idiocy and greed — wealth isolates and rewires empathy. Others have become irrelevant, or tools to feed the ego. Compassion dies before it’s born. All effort serves the super-ego, and so the world rots from the top down — leaving us choking in the stench, desperate for a window to open.

Yes. To be deemed terrorist Any of these also need to apply, and that's what the police hopefully investigate: Any evidence of a wider ideological motive, e.g. graffiti or shouted slogans (?) Any group affiliations (?) Any Manifesto/social media posts framing the act as part of a campaign. (?)

No2BS @no2bs.bsky.social · 06/10/2025
I think, when/if the police find the perpetrators are part of a political grouping and or idiology it should be classified as an terrorist attack. The existence, grade, severity of injury or deaths caused would also be a factor.

No2BS @no2bs.bsky.social · 05/10/2025
Under UK law, the mosque arson is terrorism if a clear political/ideological motive (eg far-right ideology, intent to harm) is found. If/When it meets this Terrorism Act test calling it only a “hate crime” would be a political choice, not a legal one.

No2BS @no2bs.bsky.social · 31/07/2025
So let me get this straight: Mamdani meets a grieving father, offers basic human compassion — and that makes him a “spineless charlatan”? Come off it. You can disagree with his past views, but showing respect after a tragedy isn't hypocrisy - it's humanity. And ...
