“I would like to express my thanks to all the people on Loddon ward who helped care for my husband at the end of his life.

Things had been hard for him at the beginning of the year as Alzheimer’s stole his independence and his dignity, so I was grateful to see him treated with such kindness and respect on the ward.

The same kindness was shown to me for which I’m grateful, and appreciated feeling a degree of control of events in accordance with his wishes.

The decision to stop treatment had been made by my sons and I was grateful to be offered a side ward so that we could be together as a family as his life ended. This made such a difference and the experience became a little easier as a result.

I will always remember your kindness and care and feel gratitude that his life ended in such a way.”

I was in a lot of pain and the team, especially the 3 nurses were so lovely and comforting.

They treated me with dignity and were so caring, I really appreciated it. Thank you.

On arrival the receptionist was also cheerful, professional and welcoming too.

At 70 years old I was advised to continue my breast screening, but I had to phone up every three years to make an appointment to have it done.
Part of me thought, "well, do I really need checking after all these years?"
A bit scary you may be thinking, but I am so glad that I made the appointment. At the NNUH Breast Screening Centre I was welcomed by smiling staff who made me feel comfortable and reassured as they explained everything that was going to happen to me that day. The staff are welcoming and wonderful.
Each stage was clearly explained to me and I felt cherished. I came home with a small dressing as I had a biopsy.
I can assure you that the procedure was comfortable while I had it some and the staff were wonderful, talking to me and telling me what was happening all the way through the procedure.

“My mum attended A&E last night with chest pains. I could not fault the support and treatment provided by the A&E staff at all.

From the moment we arrived, they were very thorough and attentive. They ran all sorts of tests including ECG, chest x-ray, blood tests, ultrasound scan and physical examination/questionnaire.

Luckily everything was fine and it turned out to be a diaphragm spasm or acid reflux, but they didn't take any chances.

They treated my mum with respect and dignity. They were very busy throughout the night attending to lots of patients, but they were working so hard and efficiently and my my mum had all these tests done and was discharged within 3 hours which I feel was very good going.

I would like to thank the staff for their thoroughness and support during a difficult time.”

“I decided I would like to be supported by the home birth team after a traumatic labour with my first. I also want to add the lotus team have been incredible at supporting me throughout my 2nd pregnancy and post natal period.

I didn’t realise there was so much support out there for women like me who are struggling with trauma.
To my midwives Vicki and Karen, i will forever be grateful for the support you gave me in my labour.
I will never forget how you believed in me even when i didn’t think i could do it. Without you cheering me on I wouldn’t have had such a positive birth experience this time round.
The idea of giving birth again and it actually being a positive experience was like telling me i was going to run the London marathon and win it … it felt impossible.
But i did it! What the Juniper team did i just cannot put into words, this birth experience truly has healed me and I will never forget all the Juniper midwives who carried me through during my labour and postnataly.

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in my child's care during his tonsillectomy; from the surgeons and team in theatre, recovery team, anaesthetists, staff who bought the food to the wards, the play team, and nurses and healthcare staff on the ward.

In particular, thank you to Kelly and Vicki on the ward who were very involved with him and were extremely patient and understanding of his needs and sensory issues.

Also a massive thank you to the play team who were fabulous helping calm him down and cheer him up with some toys and a prize.

Everyone was absolutely amazing from their care to communication, offering choices in their patient's care, and looking after both parents and children!

For a child who finds new situations, places, and people very stressful, he was so settled and happy during his stay. Thank you!”

“When being seen to my bed before surgery, Evie the HCA was so chatty and kind.

Although our interaction was very brief, she really put my nerves as ease instantly.

My anesthetist was also very calm and patient particularly after a difficult cannulation and went above and beyond to make this a smooth process for me.

When returning to recovery, as expected, I was very confused and felt vulnerable but Hannah, who was coordinating the unit that day took the time to come and see me and explained fully what had been happening, what was happening next, and just took the time to check in for a chat- it was invaluable when you feel that way.

Even with the pressures the NHS is facing, the recovery ward was calm, quiet and so very attentive.

Hannah really did run the unit seamlessly and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

"My dad was admitted to hospital on Christmas Day 2025.

The staff from A&E to when he was admitted to Guist ward were nothing but respectful, they made a difficult time just that little bit easier.

I will forever be grateful for that.

When my dad was diagnosed as end of life the palliative team were brilliant explaining next steps to us and what the stage was and got everything in place so I could bring my dad home to be with his family in his last days.

I will always be thankful to the hospital for the kindness and compassion you showed my dad and my family.
If my dad was here now he would want to say thank you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

We had incredible care throughout our whole time at the N&N.

From when we entered we were seen to assess how far along we were, when slight colouration was found in waters, our options were clearly laid out to us and we truly felt in control and heard while feeling informed.

Once we moved to the MLBU the midwife and student on staff did a fantastic job, not just at the technical care but being so personable and helping to make what was such an unknown experience be such a positive one, treating me with such dignity and care.

My beautiful baby boy was born at a shift change, but I hardly noticed such was the dedication and professionalism of your staff.

The midwife who took over our care that morning was simply incredible. I don’t think you could receive better care anywhere.

She was extremely knowledgeable, extremely caring and put us instantly at ease on what was the biggest moment of change in our lives.
