Once again I shall scream into the void. A WELL REGULATED MILITIA DOES NOT ATTACK ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. INDEED THAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF "WELL REGULATED" THIS IS ****NOT**** WHAT THE FOUNDERS INTENDED. I would say "thank you for coming to my Ted Talk" but I've yet to be invited to give one.

Life should be more accessible than it fucking is . . . esp with gas prices as they are, and esp as I'm about to renew my handicap tag . . . which also . . . in cause you're wondering, cuz I try not to vent about health issues, yeah . . .

I have a lot of thoughts, about suburban sprawl, about lack of accessible infrastructure, about EVERYTHING . . . Literally, I had things to mail to friends, and happened to notice a post office that was only a 5 minute detour BETWEEN MI AND MD when I was visiting my papa. I MAILED THINGS THEN.

How bad is Frederick County traffic. I'll tell you . . . the post office is less than 4 miles away (ironically I could walk to my Carrol County post office but even THAT couldn't make me move back). YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO DRIVE THERE. No really 4 miles and 30 minutes round trip

Can't say I don't miss the #FNP of 15 years ago. But I almost feel that the decline is almost more reason to double down

So a small town paper (watching #KillBuryPrint ) can run with a "Sheriff can Regularly Break the Law" ) headline but the #FrederickNewsPost can't? Maybe it's part of the conglomerate that bought 'em out. Maybe it's a result of those that prefer print over digital (or vice versa).

So Nobel prize in literature is shortly to be announced. A few people I think are deserving, and will be interesting to see, but there're are a Canadian, a Japanese citizen, and an American that are top of my list. Sadly, I don't often see speculative fiction awarded.

Probably disappointed. 20 year old me was a pretentious twatwaffle. I'm still ridiculously introverted, I'm intellectually curious, I'm still a bit of a dilletante... But I've learned to appreciate others more. And that matters.

I can't be angry, or even surprised. Once children were acceptable collateral damage in the face of the 2nd, who cares about non-humans vs. individual liberties? And yet. I weep. For the LOVE OF ALL THE IS HOLY AND UNHOLY, can someone please read some Hobbes?? www.nytimes.com/2026/09/16/c...

Oh going to test. Will return. I'm going to preemptively guess that I score high in tidewater, because college years are so formative... But with a Boston Blue Blood Mama, and a first generation German immigrant father who was raised in TX... This one is anyone's guess.

Now, it's entirely possible she's got an eating disorder. It's also entirely possible (looking at the general build of her brother, her parents, and her grandparents) that she doesn't. LET US NOT PRESUME anyone's health from the shape of their body. (Thick or thin!) Thank you. The end.

POINT BEING . . . THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON an Advent Calendar should only be be 12 days unless I'm supposed to start it on Christmas Day . . . which . . . liturgically defeats the point of Advent.

eman @nnaylime.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Because I just got a "12 Day" #AdventCalendar marketing email . . . and far too many are now being marketed this way, I must lodge a liturgical complaint. The 12 Days of Christmas run from 12/25 to 1/6 (Jesus' birth through when the 3 Kings arrived (we'll not get into calendar issues now)

Jane Fonda has entered the discussion.

Picture of Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton from 9-to-5.

Jane Fonda is quoted as saying "I never knew anyone like her. She was simultaneously a naughty, playful southern gal from the hollows of Tennessee and a deep, soulful thinker who could see through people right down to their true selves . . . to her gay and trans fans, I want you to know that she loved you. There's also the whole "Federal Resume" (which is closer to a CV) vs. "corporate resume" issue where I'm trying to now boil five pages down to two and it all just reads like pablam.
