I had thoughts of being silent and stealthy with revenge. I wanted justice. Sadness in the realization it isn't guaranteed. There was darkness in my intentions. I don't want them taking up negative space anymore. I realized my revenge is the honest and genuine truth. The truth shall set you free.

Negative Spaces is such a solid album. Poppy genre hops, growls, then sings like an angel and it all makes sense as she shares stories of the pain and pleasures of love. Her rage is so satisfying. She sits with you and your despair. And she says hanging on is easier than giving up.

There was this beautiful moment when I wanted to see that Bob Dylan movie with Timothee. I think it was because he was wearing sunglasses, a hat, was facing away from the camera & throwing a bottle at the wall. That worked for me for a few seconds. Now whenever I see him I ask why. So many whys.

Used to a non reply from a band manager being the no that when one writes me back to say no, I am thrilled. My well written emails might sound like AI but I was a student when that was drilled in and mattered. Toad the Wet Sprocket and Suzanne Vega have awesome people who are probably my age.

I can't imagine being a music fan, especially of many artists, today compared to the 90s. It was expensive to complete album catalogs and switch them from cassette to CD...to MP3 to streaming. I forgot where this post was headed. I only know I feel old and broke. Also. Metallica killed Napster.

Did ICE watch training last night so I check on the mutual aid that dispenses CBD and get to try out my new skills! Thankfully they were park rangers (taking pics of people!) and there were no incidents. I judged the situation and recorded audio behind my back. And I smiled.

From Senator Chris McDaniel: “Lately, some folks have taken to calling ICE “the Gestapo.” It sounds fierce. It feels righteous. But it isn’t true, and it isn’t harmless.

The Gestapo was a secret police force. No warrants. No courts. No lawyers. And no appeals. People vanished in the night, not because they broke the law, but because the law no longer meant anything. The knock on the door was the sentence.

ICE isn’t that. Not even close.

ICE is a public agency enforcing laws passed by elected officials. Its agents file reports. They seek warrants. They lose cases. Judges stop them. Lawyers challenge them. Some detainees go home. That’s not tyranny. That’s bureaucracy, for better and worse.

You can hate immigration policy. You can argue enforcement is too harsh, too sloppy, or too broad. You can work to have the law changed if you wish. That’s a republic doing what it’s supposed to do.

But when you call ordinary law enforcement “the Gestapo,” you cheapen real evil. You turn history into a slogan and suffering into a metaphor. And once every badge is tyranny, no tyranny is left to recognize.

In Mississippi, I was raised to believe words should earn their weight. This one hasn't yet. It throws around the language of dictatorship while living under a system where courts still rule, lawyers still argue, and the government still loses.

That difference matters.

Because the day enforcement becomes secret, unchecked, and answerable to no one, we won’t need to borrow names from history. We’ll know exactly what we’re dealing with.

And we’ll wish we’d kept our words honest.”

My therapist went on vacation to Ireland for a whole month and I am finally seeing her today. I've been with her long term and she has been doing better in her profession and as a person since she started to allow herself to take vacations. Remember to take care of yourself first.
