Many people within the HPCC burn scar still have a lot of green trees that are vulnerable to fire. This free workshop helps landowners with forest management decisions. Anyone, including property owners outside of the burn scar, is welcome to attend.

NM Fire Viewer is an ArcGIS map with clickable layers for smoke forecast, wildfire reports, hot spots, land ownership. It also has layers related to flooding such as flood hazard areas, storm reports and live stream gauges.

Five dedicated students took our first two-day FIRE NM Community Chainsaw class taught by Las Dispensas sawyer Jamie Knutson in January. FIRE NM is the new Fire Informed Restoration Education-New Mexico initiative launched by our institute with more workshops and resources available soon.
