2.5 years, and now it's done. I don't even know how to feel right now, which is odd because this is my 8th book. Maybe it's because I've never restructured to this degree before, or maybe it's that I'm so invested in this story. I guess it hasn't sunk in yet that the book is done

I have one chapter left in my book to revise, and then it's done. I've been working on this book for 2+ years. The final draft is nothing like the first draft (a first for me). I really believe in this book; this series is my legacy, so to speak, the thing I'll leave in this world when I'm gone.

I think it’d be cool if in book 1 ppl say the rival queen is a tyrant, fanatical warrior only to get her side in book 2 and see she is young and misguided but trying to protect her ppl to show that perspective is everything. I might already be doing this… #author #writer #writingcommunity

Tips to make the dialogue in your book feel more natural: - Shorten explanations in dialogue. Characters do not need to ramble for three paragraphs. - Add idiosyncrasies to characters in the beginning that you developed for them throughout the story. 1/ #author #writer #writingadvice
