Asides from morality the whole thing seems like a complete waste of energy. Does anyone outside of the deepest pits on Twitter even know this debate is happening

One thing I really appreciate in politics is leaders who focus on themselves and what they can control. The odd dog is acceptable but I can't listen to endless attacks

So many politicians these seem to lack awareness. Do they not look around and see these things happen to other politicians. Asides from the morality why are any of them on twitter, it seems to be only downside. At least with Facebook and Instagram there is upside

I genuinely can't think of anyone in the entire British right who has said anything interesting recently. It's all just varying degrees of lower immigration, cut welfare spending and random tax cuts.

Court overturn it > Residents allow one final march as a good will gesture > we all live happily ever after

I'm not sure if it's fully due to echo chamber. I think it's also Twitter where your always directly exposed to the worst possible representation of the counter to your worldview. People just seem to end up going insane

I hate the punditry alluding to this being some kind of mutually beneficial situation. Only one side is forcing the issue, the other side is supporting the community being punished.

Saw one hack talking about how Starmer could never deliver such a moment, as if all the same people weren't going nuts over his conference speeches a few years ago

She's a great example that conviction is one of the best traits for a politician to have. She's got way further than she should have because people like her conviction and overlook her substance

He didn't expect Starmer, the plp did, Wales did, Scotland did. starmer cultists are weird

This will push more of the middle ground towards a united ireland and nationalism than any Sinn Fein or SDLP conference ever would. People see this for what it is

nl34.bsky.social @nl34.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Disgusting to both sides this issue given the history and that it was not the choice of nationalists to reopen this wound. This is purely on unionism and the need to antagonise communities who had moved on. Even the SDLP see it for what it is

nl34.bsky.social @nl34.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
I can't accept both sidesing this. Given the history residents have every right to oppose this and nationalists politicians have every right to support them. They didn't whip this issue up.

If the election is revisit Drumcree that's much more fertile ground for SF than focus on delivery, it will also galvanise others/moderates against unionism. I suspect there is little to no appetite for any of this other than the narrowest corner of unionism.

nl34.bsky.social @nl34.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Absolutely absurd to suggest that Sinn Féin or any republican wanted this to happen. It's a disgrace
000
nl34.bsky.social @nl34.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
You think it's that simple? Let the most antagonistic, hostile elements of unionism get their way despite the wishes of local residents and in return we'll get peace and cooperation?

I think Sancho and Nkunku are good frameworks to view this. Both wingfielders who put up insane numbers in the bundesliga but completely struggled in the PL.

Joint Liverpool, Arsenal and united trophy parade down the Garvaghy Road this Sunday?

I'm fully convinced that Merino is actually better than both, I feel bad for him, he's been misprofiled his entire career and could have been a kane level striker

We won against Sunderland so city didn't get any advantage?

Do you think we are an "over taxed nation", that seems like a simplistic reading of the situation.

Could do with Zack Polanski being useful and use this by election to shine a light on labours disgraceful response.

This is so much effort for so little. Why are they wasting time on this minutia.

One of my favourite parts of this was when Chris Philip tweeted something like "look how much the markets love our budget" just before they went apeshit

The whole latte/Cappuccino thing is so funny. It's literally easier to get a flat white these days than a fry up.

Has a managers reputation ever improved so much in hindsight. Spurs have been a shambles post Kane but he managed a trophy and 5th

No way w can put Saka right wing and Sterling left wing. Harsh on Rooney but he's either 10 or 9 and both of the others have better England big performances

What avenues to fight a referendum are there available to any of the parties?

Haha I thought the same thing. Space for a democrat to come in and just cut military spending in half in the name of fiscal responsibility

The problem with comparing anything to Starmer's gov is that they never actually tried to persuade anyone. Of course they would take a hit but if it's similar to winter fuel then it would be manageable if they were to use the substantial savings they'd make

"it's unfair they are put up in hotels" "It's unfair they are put up in houses over locals" "It's unfair their internment camps are within 5 miles of any facilities" The thought process is quite similar to nimbyism

What did Macklemore say that was racist. Seemed pretty tame to me

These people are on a different planet. After seeing how much the attempts to shut down Bob Vylan and Kneecap massively backfired and magnified the story they decided it would work this time.

It's an interesting conundrum. Which players does an effective pressing unit make more effective and which less effective. I don't really remember how this played out under klopp other than the attack was amazing and the defence was a mess until Van Dijk and Fabinho.

I honestly think a good manager wouldn't even need to make a big drama over freezing him out. Just persuade him that 30 mins against tired legs and full games against minnows is in his own best interests too

Could sorting social care diffuse some of the backlash against changing triple shock

A lot of MPs see their job as being pundits whilst they actually are politicians. It's not surprising many of them actually become pundits

See this is why I defend Polanski for as weird and unserious as he is. He is basically the only major politician pushing back forcefully against stuff like this.

It's nuts how a party leader was so flippant with his social media usage that he didn't think wading into a row like that a week before the election was a bad idea.

I hated the way after calling nearly everything wrong here (often going against what his polls actually said) he thought he could reinvent himself as a maga bro despite being the quintessential posh Tory nerd.
