Woke up today feeling "off". Not depressed, not sick, not like I didn't sleep well. Just not quite "right". Picked up my Telecaster and played Hair Of The Dog by Nazareth. Feeling much better now.

Walked into the office this morning. Looked at the open Reaper project glowing on the computer. Saw the tab open behind it with the *secret* project. The space feels good. Let's fucking go. #audiodrama #audioproduction #voiceacting

Today, the editing continues. Three episodes to go in the current batch, then on to the next batch and preproduction on three new shows. If you need me this evening, I'll be laying on the office floor talking into my voice recorder, crafting awesome stories. #audiodrama #voiceacting

Been talking about recording a lot, and mentioned it's a passion project. What am I recording? Here's a hint: Stay safe out there, survivors. #audiodrama #voiceacting

Didn't just finish today's recording schedule, finished the FULL LIST! Tomorrow is basic editing and working on writing the next batch! #audiodrama #voiceacting

Starting recording early today. Hoping to get all the finished scripts finished this weekend. Then on to writing more! #audiodrama #voiceacting

Two more episodes recorded last night. I wanted to get more done, but I started late due to technical issues, and I didn't want to push an already tired voice. #audiodrama #voiceacting

When I say "the booth", it's not actually a booth. Our office is sound treated. Here's my "booth" #voiceacting #audiodrama

Back in the booth today. A few episodes on the schedule. Voice is holding up really well. Keeping up the momentum and adjusting the process as I go. Didn't realize how much I missed this. #audiodrama #voiceacting

Back to it this evening. At least two more episodes on the schedule. More if I can swing it. It's crazy how good it feels to be back to work! #audiodrama #voiceacting

njsullivan.bsky.social @njsullivan.bsky.social · 15/01/2026

Done for the night. That voice takes a lot more out of me than I remembered, but totally worth it! So much fun to be back in that character and back in the booth! #audiodrama #voiceacting

Spent a week cleaning the detritus and clutter of 16 months of illness and inactivity out of the office and booth. Seeing it return to a functioning space for creation and exploration is nearly tear-invoking. #audiodrama #voiceactor

Tomorrow, for the first time in over 16 months, I'm getting in the booth to record. I haven't voice acted since before I had sinus/throat surgery to save my voice in December 2024. I miss telling stories that matter to me. So I'm starting with a passion project. Let's Fucking Go. #voiceacting

Hey all! Haven't been here in a while, so I thought I'd reintroduce myself: I'm NJ. I'm a writer, audio drama producer, voice actor, and co-founder of Lantern Audio Works. I'd love to chat with musicians, artists, writers, recording artists, VAs and audio drama producers!

I keep a voice recorder on me at all times. Yesterday I had a HUGE breakthrough on Horizon 13 on the treadmill. I grabbed my voice recorder and dictated it. Didn't even have to pause my workout. I've written on hikes, while camping, all over. I use dictation for about 85% of my writing now.

Doctor called today with some test results. Apparently I have an over-inflated ego and an inflamed sense of self-worth. There's no cure.

When I decided to produce immersive audio dramas, I had no idea how much of my life would be taken up by blocking movement in 3D space and programming automated processes.

Two years ago today I was in Chicago sitting in an ICU with my wife as she fought for her life after a massive stroke and brain surgery. This morning, she hollered upstairs to ask if I want tea, and we're planning a cross country road trip. So proud of you, @celosiacrane123.bsky.social

There's someting theraputic about doing an audio journal. Just talking about what I'm doing, how I'm feeling, and then posting it on the website. It doesn't feel like advertising. It feels like social media used to. Just sharing my stories and my life. Feels good, honestly. New one coming Sunday.
